Thats repairable. Remember, insurance companies should pay for repairs up to 60% of the cars total value and, to be honest, if you say you want it back then they should attempt to honour it.
Thing is at the moment bodyshops are desperate for the work whereas insurance companies are battering...
I think half the fun will be seeing us wheezing around a five a side pitch after the first 5 minutes.
Im sure James and Tom will get involved if there is a chance they can sell us something....;)

I'd look into why its eating driveshafts. As Nero says, if its uber decked (which really has no real benefit to the handling so why bother) then its likely that it will keep going thru driveshafts....even more so if the engine mounts are knackered.
If the engine is sitting pissed then the...
S'right nice blud. You is well gangsta aiiight.
Had another chuckle to myself thinking of you putting your bumper thru the living room window....
Up for a beer one eve next week?
Well Davbvfedfvb....excuse me there...i was stifling a yawn.;)
So you went for the Ed then.....well, i suppose its not that bad a wagon...as long as Project Sexo remains then i guess its ok with me.
And just think....if you get really really serious with the Sax, you could make it...
Had mine since 2005. Its got its niggles, rattles, knocks et all but there isn't a Renaultsport that doesn't.
Main thing is its light, handles superbly and is pretty damn quick for the amount of money it costs.
When you strip away the bullsh*t that gets spouted in this place and actually...
Never feel the need to "prove myself".....im quick, im happy how quick i can drive in my own time and place so why do i need to show every oik out there?
Then again, saying that, as i drive a diesel 106 4 days a week, on a Friday its nice dusting those same idiots on the commute who usually...
Nice! So you now have an 'adult' car to offset the 'angry teenager' car.
I shall introduce you to my latest edition soon. 60mpg but i look like Clarkson driving that Peel P50....my legs don't even clear the bottom of the steering wheel.
Think about this from Renaults point of view. Its simples.
They won't be able to MAKE MONEY from the Sachs items being serviced as they cannot do it themselves.
Standard 172/182 shocks they will merrily supply you with for £50 a corner. Sach's one off items they would supply you with...if you...
The Aux belt doesn't interfere with the Cambelt. (except when it snaps. Thats when it decides to get intimate with it!)
Changing one does not mean the other has to be done.
The only time both need doing is if both are due at the same time.
I.e The aux belt is approaching 36k and the car is...
To do a head gasket yourself you would have to be fairly competent and confident enough to take the top of the engine apart.
As it requires a change of cambelt as well then you will need locking tools for the pulleys.
If the engine got very hot when the gasket went then chances are it will have...
Sorry i didn't get back to you mate.
The 182 or the 172 for that mater does not come with a cam cover gasket. Its basically sealed with a gasket sealant.
If you remove the plenum (the part that goes over the cam cover) then you'd be able to see where the oil was seeping from the cam cover bolts.
The 182 doesn't have a rocker cover gasket so its not that.
The oil is more than likely seeping out of the cam cover bolts. You need to get hold of a high temp RTV sealant (gasket sealant) and seal around the bolt holes one by one.

I'll have a bit of this. Want to find out if my 177bhp at AMD wasn't a fluke.

Hmmmm...ok. It definitely does prime when the ignition is on. Just seems to take two attempts to wake it up!
Cheers for the advice Jay...will have to investigate. I think the clutch may be on its way so maybe the tdc sensor is grubby as its definitely suffering from a poor cold start.
Found it!
Felt bad that i hadn't kept up with your latest automotive adventure so i thought i'd better hunt it out.
Remember....im gonna be working not far from you soon so i want a phone call when you start tearing the little blighter to pieces.
Something i noticed recently when starting the car from cold in the morning was that the car tends not to start cleanly on the first turn of the key.
I then noticed, due to me having no rear seats so its easier to hear, that the fuel pump doesn't seem to activate on the first turn but it does...
Mine is still with rear seltbelt reels but its got slightly lighter seats and obviously no air so i'd hope that would get it a few kg's under what yours weighs.
Need to find me a weighbridge!
