Buy a fair one for £4.5k, track it, have fun in it, then sell for a fair amount.
Buy a dog, have to spend loads of money on things that keep going wrong, then have difficulty selling it on. No thanks.
I'd be very wary of a DIY cambelt change, they require specialist tools to be done right. I'd much rather find one that had been carried out by an experienced RenaultSport specialist.
Thanks for linking that thread Danny, that's really interesting to see what you CAN buy.
Kangoosport - You'll know, assuming the F4R in the Kangoo is proper job, because you'll have that direct comparison. If it feels like it's missing a third of its power then it's time to walk.
If you are...
In that case it's plain as day for me. Turbocharge the Kangoo and turn it into a super-sleeper, then use the Trophy as the weapon it was made to be - on fast-road and track!
Get it rolling roaded, but that's massive overkill if you ask me. That's the only way to find out how strong the engine really is. It's a 182 though, it will be there or thereabouts, you're unlikely to get one with 130bhp!
Those wheels!!!!!! :D
I'm surprised how little presence it has from the front, perhaps the colour softens it a little? But wow, what a car, and what a noise. Love it! Enjoy it.
I don't know what everyone's problem is with the guy's business sense. He sells things at ridiculously high prices - if you don't like it, don't buy it.
It's one of the most basic concepts of economics - supply & demand. If someone out there buys his products at the price he advertises them...
Good video that Jamie, enjoyed the commentary, and the way you're OH says "ass" is quality.
How rabidly quick was that Mk1 Golf, fvck me, that was seriously shifting!
I managed to pick up the correct adapter (APF-D102RE) from the For Sale section. Quite lucky I think.
No imprint for me, the ICE funds ran out, but next on the list is definitely an under-seat sub. How far away is Christmas? ;)
That racing was fantastic to watch, so nip & tuck, it must have been great fun to be out there and holding your own (for a change, normally you're holding someone else's ;)) and even though I knew how it ended my heart was in my mouth as you came out of Woodcote and onto the old pit straight...
Great effort Lesley!
I don't suppose after what happened on Saturday you could polish it out? You may be good, but not that good ;)
Look forward to seeing Dan's next chariot glistening clean in the not too distant future.
