Clio Sport 172 Mk1
Anyone's car made a kind of whinning sound after installing a viper?
Just installed mine and its got a bit of a whine to it when it idles (not when revved). Almost sounds like alarm bells are going off. Can just be heard when bonnet is shut but fairly loud when bonnet is...
Yeah i'm having it done @ powerflow in Wolverhampton. I went in today to ask for a twin exit either side but it would mean cutting out the spare wheel tire well as theres not enough room or clearance.
Please show off your tail pipes...
I'm getting my exhaust done on thursday and i'm being very specific about it. Not wanting to see the back box really, just the tail pipe. I'm going for a single exit 2.5" tailpipe. This kind of shape...

I had one of k-tec's silenced de-cat's installed on my W reg 172 Mk1. It's a real ball ache to install it simply because renault cram EVERYTHING in and you can't get your fingers behind where it bolts onto the manifold. Plus the bolts on the standard twin cats are so tight and always at extreme...
Can you pull the dent out with a suction tool or is it a "propper" dent?
If you take out the interior trim on the boot can you knock out the dent lightly with a hammer or is there a skin in the way? I haven't looked...
To stop it from peeling you need to obviously buy the correct paint that will not peel under those temperatures and you need to key the surface so the paint takes to it. This is just wet and dry sand papering the surface so it "scratches" it if you wish. 400-500 grit should be ok. Make sure its...
Where can I get one of these from and what price for a Clio Sport MK1 172?

Is that a viper on the end of it?
Lol you people are talking about a slight fraction of a second. It's down to the driver not the car. All the Clio Sports are so close. You get a 172 Mk2 driver vs a 172 Cup and the 172 Mk2 driver is better at something as simple as changing gear quicker then he wins. It's not like the cup has...
Yes they are the stainless steel ones. I was going for H&R's but jon persuaded me to go for FK's cos they are stainless steel and dampening adjustable whereas the H&R's are only ride height adjustable. Apparently mine are 40-70mm:cool: . Should be arriving within a week or two.
You may see gains but I wouldnt say it will be that noticable unless you do other mod's to the vehicle to get the airflow in -> out quicker. I would get it for that price but would have to have someone I know to fit it so I'm not paying through the nose.
It's a big job, if you know a mechanic who will do it for you cheap then fair enough but if you're taking it to some local garage who charge £20 an hour then your gonna be paying out some cash.
Subframe needs to come off and will not match up to your cat/de-cat/exhaust, you would need linking...
I can afford the H&R's. Will there be noticable differences between the two packages? Which H&R set would you recommend (if theirs more than one setup).
If I can afford H&R's over FK's you think this is a must?
