Can't agree with you,the 180 lacks the punch of the 182 and 9/10 i'll accelerate quicker than him in any gear. Yes a good driver good hang on by its coat tails but i've found that the 182 is better in every department.
Have a look on pistonheads.com As said previously if your struggling for 10k how are you going to manage the running costs? It will be a high mileage MK1. My advice would be to look at a mint 182.

TBH not really noticed MPG change with de-cat. Certainly freed up the revs though and sounds 10x better. One of the better buys for the RS IMHO.
Just noticed how many abreviations i've used, lol.;)
I'll report back Ali once blueflame is on.
^^^ I was thinking along those lines mate. I'm curious as i had a quick blast off the lights against a car that i looked up took 8 secs to reach 60mph,i only had him by around 1/2 car lengths.
Good posts boys!!
Hi Guys/Girls,
I was wondering if you could clear something up for me..
Lets say my RS does 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and car 'b' does it in 8.0 seconds. From a standing start what does 1.4 seconds look like in terms of car lengths?
Same goes for 1,2,3,4 second time gaps? 1 second=2 car lengths??
Ali,
I hardly ever get pops with my decat, although to be fair my baffler has gone in the standard exhaust...got a blueflame on order.
Should i be experiencing more popping?:S
Agree often go for quick blasts but really have to find the roads here as 80% are motorways...no fun in them. Such a great car to just drive on your own and it brings the biggest smile time after time!
As said previously, whats the big fuss all about? 180BHP from a 172 with those small mods is great IMHO.
Some people have had a RR and found out they are running closer to 150 than 172. Maybe get your inlet manifold matched and they could get you into mid 180's.
Honestly,from what i've read on...
I've got a black/gold 182 and have a decent tint all round. I'll post a pic for you in a couple of hrs as still at work. Makes the car look 10x better IMHO. Go for it!!!
Wrong section btw ;)
John
P.S is it already tinted?
Sounds like a good starting block but i'd maybe recommend saving your springs money and saving up for coilovers.
What else do you have in the pipeline or will it just be these mods?
John
Do the same as you do you to switch them on. Turn the lights to side lights twice in a row whilst ignition is on but not the engine,a beep will sound to let you know its done.
Thanks for all the comments guys..will definately put a picture up this evening, was too busy yesterday evening.
Hopefully i've found a decent company to repair the scratch.
Its called Dentmaster and is run by a load of British guys. Its always nice to deal with British guys here as sometimes the...
Thanks for all the nice comments,i'm going to ring a company called dentmaster here i think they may do scratch removals aswell,if not then i'll try a decent polisher/bodyshop company.
Just mindless t***s who have nothing better to do than ruin people's days and cars. The annoying thing is there...
Hi Guys/Girls,
I was washing my car last evening and found a 10-12" key mark along the passenger door just past the door handle!!!!! I am absolutely fuming and annoyed. It must of happened the last day or so as i usually check the car over every day or so.
It's down to the metal aswell...
Erm....what?!! I had a 206 180 for 2 weeks before i got my 182 and it doesn't live with it at all,my mate has one aswell and we've had numerous drives now i have my 182,doesn't live with me in corners, and i pull 1-2 car lengths on acceleration between 30-60 etc.
A 180 will never rip a 182 full...
At least every drive i take it on i give it the full treatment, even if i'm on an empty road and alone i'll still give it some welly as its just pure fun and excitement driving it hard.
Usually changed around 6.5-7k revs, but do like to bounce off the limiter occasionally ;) .
Such a great car...
^^^ What that man says.Along with some nice bucket seats it will be sorted. But if you've a spare £4.5-5K spend it on ITB's with cams and all the bits and you'll see close to 225BHp....Thats what i'm going to be doing.
John
Hi Guys/Girls,
My brother mentioned something to me that got me thinking:S ... I on average cover anywhere between 800-1000 miles a week,75% motorway miles. Now due to the high speed limit here i generally cruise at 85-90MPH which is around the 4500-5000RPM,with quick blasts upto 6000RPM. I've...
I've been a victim of the standard exhaust rattle and as we speak have a blueflame on order.
I got quoted over £200 ALONE just for the centre section so i imagine the full system from renault would cost £400+. Blueflame is the best value exhaust going IMHO. Janspeed do a nice one too for a...
