I’ve got some stands, but the flash needs the foot to have the thread to be put on the stand doesn’t it?
Although I think you can get those small things that are the size of the hot shoe but they have a thread on the underside.
Cheers :)
Oh and has anybody got an OEM Canon flash foot going spare? I’ve just bought a 430EX and it’s not got the flash foot so I’lm looking to get one on the cheap.
So, does anybody have any particular aims for this year to do with photography? To improve; to photograph new things; to get some new gear?
Personally I want to continue my progression, I want to do more paid work and also I want to gain experience in paid work that I can use when it comes to...
CPL’s are good for automotive stuff as you said. Sometimes I use a gradual ND filter in some of my car shots to darken the sky above the car too, such as in this one where both of the filters I mentioned were used-

But if you’re looking for other filters...
FF is generally better for low light due to lower pixel density, but there are some good APS-C sensors that can do surprisingly well.
One thing DXO mark can't measure is that 'look' to the photos though. The photos straight out of the camera look so much better on my 5D2 than they did my D7000...
The 70D’s sensor is said to be fantastic, but personally I’d prefer the more substantial body of the 7D, that and they’re very well priced at the moment what with the 7D Mark II to be announced early this year.
The kit lens of Nikons are 52mm filter threads (not 58mm, thats the Canon one), but obviously if you have a different lens it’ll probably be a different size :)
A lot better, how about bringing in those frame marks to a more rectangular shape that boxes the lettering, so like the last one just those corner marks are closer to the edges of the lettering?
It depends what you want, you can get the screw in filters, or the ones with a holder.
Personally, I use a 10 Stop screw in filter, with a gradual ND in a filter holder attached to that. If you don’t know what I’m on about give it a quick Google search, there’ll be some more informative...
I’m not overly keen on any of them really; No.3 has the most potential, just lose the circle and then have a play with the lettering, the Sans Serif font always looks the best.
As for the adverts, I have noticed an increase in the adverts you can’t skip before videos, which is highly frustrating. They’ve gone advert mad frankly, just so that somebody can make about 2 pence in a year. The only channels worth having adverts for are ones with thousands and thousands of...

As for your sharpness query, Eddie, most fast 50’s stuggle with sharpness. You’d need the 50mm F1.2L to have anything near sharp for a 50 at wider apertures really. So I wouldn’t dwell on it too much, just give it a bit of sharpening in Lightroom.
You might want to see if it’s focussing...
I couldn’t vouch for your lenses holding their value, but I’m guessing that they will hold quite a bit of value providing they’re in good condition.
As for the Sigma 24-70, I wouldn’t go for a 24-70 on a crop sensor, 24mm on crop is a strange focal length, not wide enough, but not long enough...
Put it on the car and try pulling it (not hard obviously) and see if it feels sturdy. I have another action camera on a non official mount and it’s fine, I’ve used it many times.
First try out of the 24-70 yesterday, I’m going to Liverpool at night sometime in the next week to do some stuff around the docks etc
