I would rather do that but at the moment finances dont quite allow for that.
Are you getting a whole kit and if so how much is it going to be setting you back?
Im hoping to lower my clio (Mk1 Ph2 1.4RT) asap and I was just wondering which lowering springs you would recommend. Im hoping to lower it 60mm but am not sure which makes are best or where I could get them at a good price.
Any suggestions for where to buy them and what make to go for would...
for those that have declared mods with CIS did you get any notification that they had recieved your letter about the mods as I have sent off a letter about a week and a bit ago but I have had no response eve though I asked for notification.
Ive notcied that my new exhaust which was knocking a bit made this sort of noise at 3k revs. I dont know if it was due to it knocking at a really high frequency or what but it seems to have gone since I sorted the exhaust to stop knocking. Mine is a Mk1 1.4RT by the way.
Didnt really like them in the first pics, thought they looked good in the second set of pics BUT they would look the absolute dogs dangelies on coilovers. DO IT!!!!!
Going by what you said I would have thought it would be covered under warranty but I dont think you can try to blame it on one person ragging the car on one occasion.
So is the insurance on a clio with a 5 turbo engine about the same as the insurance on an actual 5 GTT?
Im not planning on doing this soon (still only 17 - 18 next month) but its something I might be interested in doing in the future and it would be good to know when I would be able to afford...
Just out of interest how does the insurance see this conversion to a clio - what is it comparible to in terms of insurance?
Is this conversion easier than a 5 GTT conversion and is it better/worse in terms of performance?
kind of what I expected TBH. Ill see what they are like when I get the wheels but wont be changing them anyway, unless they really are terrible, as money is a bit tight.

TBH mate this is probably the wrong place to ask if you are looking for positive comments as there are a lot of people on here who really dislike the whole bodykit type thing and prefer subtle mods. I just gave my honest opinion and maybe its send a message out to your mate all these comments...
Does anyone know if Aurora tyres are any good as I bought a set of alloys last week which have these tyres on them but I dont know if they are any good or not (Im guessing not as I havent heard of them).
Thanks.
The thing is though that it doesnt matter how much blood, sweat, tears and money has gone into the car as that alone doesnt make it a good car. IMO the car hasnt been modified wisely. The front bumper really doesnt suit the car, the wheels (although not to my taste anyway) have been ruined by...
If you think it is possibly the exhaust rattling then I would try just getting underneath and shaking it at various points along the exhaust to see if it touches anywhere. If it doesnt hit anywhere then the chances are that its not the exhaust I would have thought.
Having recently changed my exhasut from the cat back and fitting a decat I want to change my downpipe because there is a big dent in it as you can see in this photo:

The dent is actually quite bad and you cant see properly from that...
The courtesy light not coming on may be caused by corrosion of the central light unit from a leaking sunroof. I had that on mine so I just got a new light unit from the scrappies. You dont need to replace the whole central unit - just the part for the lights. You can check whether it is...
Ive managed to get 2 of the three rattles sorted by playing about witht the ruber mounts. There is now just one rattle and that is at the downpipe just before it reaches the decat. Any ideas on how that could be fixed?
Im also getting a bit of a burning smell as well when Ive been out driving...
