This sounds good.
I'm not sure if I can make the bowling meet now :(
my immobiliser has just gone up the spout and I can't get the poxy thing to start now.
Hey Guys,
I'm fairly certain after searching high and low on here that I'm having an immobiliser issue.
4 weeks after buying my ph2 172, the cam follower gave in and took most of the shaft and head with it. So, a complete new engine later and all is happy.
Until yesterday.... now, by this...
Hi Guys and Gals,
Here is my '51 Ph2 172 ECU, Key and Decoder.
Anybody out there need a bargain?

mine went bang at 2000rpm.
turned out the camshaft snapped and took the rockers, valves, piston and liner with it :(
still, nearly new engine complete with box, ecu, key, decoder and all pipes and loom for £400 solved that for me.
I'm with direct line, only 22, with 2 cars (clio 172, megane 1.4 16v), 2 years ncb £770 fully comp for the year as the only driver, living on a council estate with 1/2 hourly police patrol.
Those brass picture hooks with one end bent straight, watched my mate struggle for 45 mins with tiny allen keys, did it in under 30 seconds with them babies !
I had similar, just put it down to the shocking weather we've had recently getting into the systems as it's only done it for the last 2 weeks (of daily, sorry not daily, persistant rain or snow) over 3 months of ownership and now things have dried up again the problem appears to have gone away.
Depends what cable you are running and the quality of the cable and connections.
I'm running 2 amps (Vibe Slick A7 + Alpine V12 MV550) and a power cap from a distribution block, all individually earthed to seat belt bolts, but to power it all I've got 1000w rms rated low resistance oxygen free...
Hey guys,
just after a spot on info really.
I've just fitted a nice new set of EBC redstuffs onto my ph2 172 and noticed the box the came in is marked up Megane '99-'
Obviously the pads fit a couple of different models, the Megane being one of them.
Now my question is......
I have a set...
I'm from all over, me mam lives in greenhill, but me and the better half are down in the town centre.
With so many people down here in this corner I shall have to show my face at a few meets methinks.
not me, shes been off the road since friday night with electrical problems :dapprove: hopefully will have her back by next weekend tho.
am scootling about in a black 5dr 'w' reg megane atm
i have a friend who owns a backstreet garage, hopefully he will pick up on something i've missed. he also has a full dignostics machine so i can rig it up on that without the horrific fee renault want to charge (£80 + £120 to either come to me or collect the car as it's a non-mover)
Still...
Hi Guys (and Gals),
i bought a ph2 172 2 weeks ago, no problems there...
last night however, it decided to stop playing ball and died on me whilst cruising at 30mph through the town centre.
the stop light and battery light came on instantly and that is how they sit atm. she turns over, but...
