I drove a MK4 GTI at the weekend - one of these puppies:
It felt so slow, laboured and unresponsive compared to the clio, really was a dull drive. Lets hope the new one proves to be better than its predecessors!
Correct me If I am wrong but the new incarnation of the GTI I supposed to be pretty pokey (unlike the previous 2 variants :rasp:), not far off RS clio pace IIRC?
Blatantly the best seats on the market ;)
anyway, aside from the sales pitch I have also owned 'sports seats', namely a set of Evo 8 MR recaros = http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=393082
Although the Recaros are ok, they don't touch the performance of a fixed bucket for hold...
Re: accoustic valve,
The ECU has no way of knowing if the acoustic valve is there or not.
The vacuum hose that operates on manifold pressure is the only vague connection to the block IIRC

Get them on ebay for £20-30 all intact.
Easiest way to change them is from under the car, peel back the tray under the corner you need to change and have a fiddle, 15min job max.

Or extensive braking/heavy use and then the brakes being held at standstill - cause the...
Ah, you would probably loose that if you flashed the ECU, so maybe just stick with the OEM map rewrite & see if that helps.
Beyond that I would speak with Henk as it does sound ECU related due to the fact it pulls happy as larry up to the limiter.
^ Definitely.
As suggested I would reinstall the OEM base software on the ecu or even update it to a newer version if possible, then rewrite the standard map (Get both from Henk) that way you can rule out the ECU files as the problem and go from there.
Another simple suggestion but have...
I'm sure Henk would be able to send you a copy of the base software & the standard map; it would almost certainly be worth sending him the readouts as he might be able to spot something we can't.
Other than that there is always Renault :quiet:
Word perfect mate! keep seeing this V6 around Windsor, I nodded to him once and now he stares at me waiting for me to swoon at the sight of his side vents - I don't give him the satisfaction ;)
I usually find rep mobiles are the ones that try to egg me on, especially as it nears 9.00am and they...
