I would start by going into safe mode (F8 on boot) and go from there, it will only load the basics it needs so you should be able to get things uninstalled from there.
Might sound a weird thought but try clearing the internet cache, that's the first thing I would try. I had a strange problem with pictures and clearing the cache worked.
MikeDX: "had all the horror stories" - your not taking into account the fact that it's not even close to being finished. It's only in Beta 1 at the moment so you can't really expect that much.
Anyone that is wanting Vista, the next version should be released today.
You were at the lights near the shopping centre with PC World, Pizza Hut and Argos at 15:55 yesterday (27/1/06)
Reg was AK54 ***, I think there was a CS sticker in teh rear window, bottom right.
I'd rather have a operating system for the next 6 months rather than just wait for Vista ;)
Cheapest I could find was http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=15445723243&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=97548
It's a system folder, don't delete it or any files within it for a start ;)
It might be set to open everytime you log on for some reason. Try Start -> Run -> type 'msconfig' -> 'Startup' tab on the right and see if it's got 'C:\Windows\System32' in any of the entries under command line...
I used to use Moonfruit ages ago, might be worth seeing what they have to offer now, not sure you can use your own space and domain though.

DJ EZ used it by the looks of it and he's got his own domain so it might be possible: www.djez.com
