they wernt recalled for snapping. i can only speak from my experience but mine would click in then some times click out and the lever inside felt slack. and would look as though it had shut properly. so dont be to quick to throw blame onto the owner.

during your thorough inspection how did you work out the catch hadnt failed? and then come to the conclusion it was user error. i had 1 of those dodgy bonnet catches and know how unpredictable they are. and renault replaced it straight away. funny that.

so why did renault recall them all years ago? cos people dont shut them properly. lol

i know we do but if ya gonna be touching cars ya got to be abit mechanical or hes gonna cause problems. make sure its sealed properly after and the plastic hose with the jubilee clip on is pushed fully on. the air box will be bolted down but i just take the top bit off.

my 05 inferno was imaculate had 42k no belts as it was due last month and i sold it for 4700. alot of car in great condition for such a low price. but this is the way unless you have a rusty ford with an rs badge on it.

avon standard tyre? i dont think so, avons are the worst tyres ive ever had on a rs. sport contacts were standard fit on 172's and a very good tyre and exaltos on a 182 are great.
