speaking of mark, did his car ever get finished? lol
after being on SSC for like 4 years and meeting him once at a show, i still never saw his car in the metal.
my 182 has exactly same fault.. started before chrimbo at about 18k ish
only happens when warm
its a LOT more notecable in the drivers cab, and it speeds up if you gently put the pedal down till about 2k where it goes quiet again..
you rev it hard it stops, then you get back down to idle...
if it managed to do that its most likely forced induction.
catching up ALOT 85+ needs a lot of power and ALOT of torque..
4/5k ish gets you 230ish+ bhp at the fly.
and fairly reliably too.. just gearboxes that dont like much over 200..
106 gti is heavier slightly i think due to the leather/alcantara
on paper (depending on where you look) the gti is slightly slower than vts
think this is due to weight when peugeot do there tests.. like a full tank or some luggage or something whereas citroen dont. IIRC.
practically...
but the 172 will always be in front unless theyre driven by a complete idiot and the stigs in the VTS..
ive driven plenty of vts and 106 gti and had a 180bhp 820kg vtr engined 106 that would murder my 182.
the vts is a fast car (standard/mild mods) and will keep up with a 172. but thats...
standard for standard the 172/182 would win EVERYTIME..
theres no denying that
but the vts wouldnt be far behind until you get to illegal speeds.
you'll never get the amount of torque steer you get in the 182.
but for fun/£ you cant beat the vts. can pick them up for 2k nowadays..
C
takes the piss really cos it goes on the general area..
you could be out in the middle of nowhere and have no one withn 10miles of you but your the same risk as an inner town estate?
theyre very under rated cars.
they weigh just over 900kg, and often produce 130+bhp out the box.
craggys was a very fast one.
cams, induction kit, exhaust, and remap will take it to circa 160bhp and 140lbft of torque...
strip it out and its down to about 870kg. you got a quick motor...
what are the standard fit renault ones in both 1.2 16v's and 182s??
how long should they last? as my 182 mpg seems down, wondered if the spark plugs were geting a bit poor..
and my sisters 1.2 has a coilpack/spark problem i think
pretty much summed it up
if your VERY VERY careful and gentle and keep the bit moving, you can use a flap wheel to remove all the roughness on the inlet tubes. saves alot of time but you do have to be very careful and keep it moving or you will create flat spots!
halfords also do 'variety...
i washed polished and wax'd mine today
then i went to apply a second coat of wax and it started snowing
tried again later and it started spitting
grr. weather.
also instead of braking, coast down
if you see a roundabout ahead, instead of drivign normally up to it then braking, just let off the pedal and coast to it, gradually slowing down
IIRC you use less fuel when n gear coasting without your foot on the pedal than you do idling!
looks like some nice roads
north wales?? you get around a bit dont you maz. lol
is that your ctr behind her adtmits?
anybody experience any scary slidey icey moments?
