normal lights dont have the 'projector' bit on the outer light, just a silver like 'dish' with a bulb in (same as the 'inner' light)

when the AA bloke came out ages ago he did remove a big chunk of metal (like a u shaped cover) and said the wiring loom was rubbing on it so removed it.
