This will really upset you, going to test a CTR later this week (was a few years ago when i last drove one). I do like the Cup and i think the Koni/sportline set up is what i need, but i'm not sure if its the whole MK2 gruffness i've tired of.... like you, i've had a few ;) The 197 must have...
Still toying with this idea on the Cup. I live in the sticks, and therefore do lots of B road driving. Currently the car is on Billstein B14 Coilovers. I sometimes think these are a little harsh for me (getting old lol) and i'm thinking the Koni setup might be more suitable? Whats the ride...
No sorry :(
Went to Tweeks to the alignment done, and while i was there whipped out a bolt and asked if they had any lol. They do loads of sizes. I can get the part no off my invoice if that helps?
Not at all.
Calipers were Hamerite smooth silver (in spary form). The wheels were refurbed by The Wheel Specialist. http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/
Refurbed in their code TWS sport 1. Good match for the the standard finish, i left the centrecaps as they didnt need matching.
Cheers guys :o
Lol, its in the shed. I sprayed up the inlets and guard before Steve @ Birchdown fitted the inlets, but the car is due an oil change in the next few weeks so i've left if off (and i dont have a deep 10mm socket lol)
Sprayed my friend. Not a fan of brushed finish, never looks...
All Cups need tbh! Look spot on out of the box imo :approve:
Well yes ish. I loved the 197, but this is a great motor for what i need at the mo. It feels well more brutal than the 197 ever did. I do miss the refinement of the 197, but meh, be reet ;)
Cheers fellas!
Gave it a flick over today
New bullets
Quite happy with these. Refurbed by the Wheel Specialist in Manchester on Tuesday. Bought some new wheel bolts from Demon Tweeks yesterday to compliment them :o
Nowt special in the mods department, Billstein B14 Coilovers, De-cat...
This. Wish i started saving years ago! I could have then bought a property a year or so ago when the market was on its arse. Still, you live and learn :(
Something like a standard/slightly fettled 172 would be ok. Yes i do wish i had a better car, but ask yourself, are you trying to impress...
Exactly why i sold my 197. Do i miss it, hell yeah, but the Cup has the performance side so thats ok. I banked around 5k doing it, which all helps. It takes AGES to save. I'm saving around £700 pm at the mo and its soooo hard. Everytime i see a 200 it pisses me off knowing i could actually buy a...
I run a standard system de catted. Suits me tbh! Had the experience of x2 Ktec stealths and imo they are anything but (loud). My money would probably go to a Yozza/BTB Stealth :)
Oh, and imo you will not gain feck all changing systems for a performance gain. I've had a few over the years...
I feel your pain. Been saving for over a year or so now. I could buy a 200/R26R outright with what i've saved, but need to sort a new house. Very hard lol :(
