PS just to ruin your day but if your mate cant turn off the lights renault will charge you to the tune of £60 plus for turning them off. You have to do this or your car will fail MOT.
With regard to the replacement resistors, those are the expensive ones from capitol seating, however they are...
lol all this talk of clips and CLIPS confusing ay.
You will need the following. How you get them is up to you... you will need an airbag replacement resistor as even if your mate turns of the lights they will come straight back on again.
pretensioner socket and clip to connect the cables...
tbh mate its very hard to diagnose over the web without actually seeing it. I would leave everything disconnected until you are certain what goes where. If you solder it up wrong you could have pretensioners going off which isn't ideal. I can map out the wires under my passenger seat if you need...
Now that your SERV and airbag light are on you will need to go to a dealer/someone with a Renault CLIP system to turn them off again. Because you switched on the ignition without an airbag/airbag replacement resistor in position the cars brain thinks there is a fault and has permanently logged...
The reason for the two cables on the passengers side and three on the drivers side is that the drivers side has a switch in the seatbelt clip (binging noise when your belt is not plugged in.) so requires a third wire.
this image may help.
again the black taped cable goes to the cars electrics. The yellow it the airbag resistor with the resitor wire poking out of it.
The other cables leading under the seat are going to the pretensioner.
cant make head nor tail of that photo fella. are they upside down?
This is the underside of my seat. You can see the airbag resistor (yellow) on the end of the wire.
behind it all you can see the protected cable (black plastic tube) going to the pretensioner.
on the left you can see the...
just too answer some questions:
Insurance wise no change as it not a performance enhancement :D
With regard to trophy trendlines you can see comparing the image posted of the trophy seats posted earlier that mine have larger shoulder and thigh bolsters. I have sat in both and I can only really...
are you coming to the lakeside meet mate, If so I'll be there and you can have a er sit lol. Interestingly enough I used to get back ache in the standard seats lol, but these have a lot better lower back (lumbar) support so they are so much more comfortable for me.
20mm matey, but not that noticable as the whole feel of the seat changes. The height is less of a factor as the comfort and the way the seats holds you is a 100% improved. I couldn't ask for anything else tbh
Just a continuation of the info thread linkage
Loving my seats has been by far the best money spent on my car so far :D
Direct out of an Evo 8 MR, took a bit of tinkering to get them on but over the moon with them and has made a huge difference to the car.
They are black alcantara with the...
Been meaning to put this thread up for ages, but haven't had a chance. Now that works called off due to snow I thought I'd get it made! Its just a bit of knowledge that I wanted to share about seat options for the clios and a great place to get good value Recaros!
As every RS owner knows the...
good spot, seriously retro video, awsome though :D
I'm not suprised spectators where killed, the crowds are literally parting to reveal the road in some parts!
