Yeah im a bit mistifyied by the claims that the Conti's are skittish in the wet.
But then again i don't drive like a tool in the wet so i've never had an issue!
Actually thats untrue....i did drive like a tool once in the rain. It was in my M2 Ph1 1.2....and i crashed it.
Enough said.
Very true. Whats that saying? "All the gear, no idea"?
I'd rather be fast due to a good technique and linking everyhring together compared to monstering the straights and being completely shoite in the bends.
First one, LY05 EHN heading towards Palmeria Square at around 10pm ish last night.
Second one, GP05 LTF parked in the Churchill Square 2 car park at about 12.30 today.
Both looked very tidy.
If it gets scary in the wet then there really is a simple explanation....you are pushing too hard.
Crap tyres or not, when its wet, surely its common sense not too drive as fast as you normally do?
Quite right. It was my Cup sir Bjorn had compared his FF to and the difference is considerable so a 30mm drop on a Cup is no way gonna happen. You are looking at about 20mm front and barely a change at the rear.
Try Direct Line. Im with them. Think im paying about £650, but it should go down in January as im 25 in December.
Hopefully i can keep it on the island before then as well!
Alot of companies won't touch Cups these days.
Re: NATIONAL CLIOSPORT MEET IDEAS?
Somewhere central would be somewhere like Leeds which is Yorkshire, which is also the Lake District....which is good.
Thing is somewhere 'central' is gonna be good for those near that place and a pig for those having to drive hundreds of miles but then its...
A 340R with a CTR engine? Wow....now that must have fecking flew. They are quick enough standard.
Actually that setup would appeal to me more than an Atom personally.
Its pretty hard finding a decent Mk1 Exige with a K-series engine these days.....alot have had VAG or Honda conversions.
Not that im surprised. The VHPD K-series is a ticking bomb usually.
Mike will prob have better reliability from the VAG lump compared to the Renault one!
Seem to be plenty of people lining up to piss on the fire when it comes to these threads!
Fair play to Mike for doing it i say. Another thread to keep track of!
Am i right in saying that it was written off as a Cat D due to rear suspension and subframe damage?
Im not completely up to speed on this....how extensive was the damage it was written off for?
Just that you have to consider that V6 repair bills don't come cheap so even minor damage can cost...
Thing is there are lots of very bad roads round my way...actually make that most of Surrey.
Combine those with the stiffer springs mine has and a Cup interior which has no sound deadening and there is a symphony of rattles.....plus its colder now so everything has contracted so it rattles more...
Re: **South East Meet 25th November**
Typical you arrange it for THAT weekend. Im due to be on a Subaru stand trying to plug the new Impreza to uninterested shoppers in a Tesco store.
Not my choice....was kinda forced upon me.
I hit a fat lazy pigeon once heading down the A303 to Newquay. Was in my old shagged Corsa.
The stupid bird was sat in the middle of the dual carriageway....mate in front missed it but i well and truly hit it mid take off doing about 80mph.
It definitely caught some air then...lucky it didn't...
Well im prob not gonna be in the market till June 08. Will be interesting to see prices of them then.
Im thinking white with the speedlines but have them re coloured in the same white....a la Cup racer with no stickers...Mmmmmmmmmm.
Yeah well thats what im worried about....my mate works for SMC and he's been nagging me about the R27.
He may just make me an offer i can't refuse as its down to 13995....and i'll be putty if i happen love it!
