Anyway....regardless of the B*ullshit some people on this thread have spouted already, that has to be the best kept Clio out there....bar maybe Rich's!
Now fast forward 10 years and imagine the reaction to this ad then....it would surely be worth at least the same money!
Im with Mark on this one. The weight difference may seem paltry but that difference is noticeable.
I got back in mine on Saturday after driving Clares 182 around since Tuesday and it immediately put a big grin on my face.
Makes it ever more difficult to find something to replace it with.
A 172 Cup with an aftermarket exhaust hanging rather low going down the A23 towards Brighton at around about 12.45 then a Flame Red 172 shortly after on the same road.
Then saw an Illiad blue 182 with a same coloured 255 V6 not far behind it on the A281 just by the A24 junction at Horsham at...
I have a 172 Cup!
I know the seats are exactly the same save for the covering but the leather doesn't give as much in the 182. Mine feel comfier.....they look tack in comparison tho.
And yes Terry...she would kill me if i drove it like a hire car...or should i say IF she found out..hehe.
For the past few days i've had the girlfriends 182....and i miss the Cup!
Don't get me wrong, its great to drive...unsurprisingly, but the seats are nowhere near as comfortable as my 'poor mans' cloth seats. They are too damn hard!
And it just doesn't seem as fast off the mark and thru the mid...
I first heard mine whistle when i had the rear seats down as well. It only really starts when its high up the rev range and its definitely coming from the exhaust....possibly the rear box.
I like to think i've grown up watching some of the best rally drivers ever to grace the sport.
McRae, Makinen, Burns, Sainz, Kankkunen, Solberg, Gronholm....
Ahh the memories......*sits back, puffs on the pipe James May stylee*
Awesome! Now thats what i'd love to do....a meet like that for a long weekend, somewhere like that.
A shame i don't get any interest when i try and round people up! Slackers...
Rub it over a bit....you can begin to feel when its taken everything off. Best thing to do is keep checking with your hand every so often.
I think some people are quite fearful of claying but its not that difficult to do at all.
Well it did cross my mind but im not too sure how it would behave with a stiffer front and softer rear!
Anyway, the original springs found a new home long ago so its not an option. Im not too fussed with how it looks to be honest.
Its on Sportlines believe it or not....shows how the Cups don't sit heavy on their springs!
Its never been machine polished since i've owned it. Just polished, sealed and the occasional clay.
Was very impressed with the job that guy did......the knuckle imprinted roof was one i thought would never come out.
Good to catch up as well...been a while.
Was good to finally meet you Brisa!
