Belt failure maybe? Piper cams should be fine on standard internals. It's either the guy who did it, or renault that should foot the bill tbh. Parts come with a year garantee. Good luck proving it though :S
The lip that's broken is only a fail safe to stop the belt moving off. Which considering it's grooved and under tension is very unlikely anyway. so long as there are no sharp bits that would damage the belt, i'd imagine it will be fine. Saying that, if it's been dropped, do you know it's still...
True mate, but went out to see a lad last night who had the same immobiliser issues I had last year. Clip wouldn't read the ECU, so diagnostics will be about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Only problem is, renault will see this, think the ECU is screwed, and change it. Most likely to...
Dealer :S are you mad. They'll charge a fortune. Sounds like your starter is on the way out, or there is a bad earth somewhere. Is it working fine now?
Fook me. They are £380 direct from sabelt including vat. Only difference is a bit of embroidery. Frames are 50quid a side compared to £125 rsport. Not sure if frames are the same though
Sh*t. That's annoying. Have you tried manually earthing everything with jump leads or similar? Could be a break in the wire somewhere? Seems unlikely that the fly wheel is damaged at the teeth?
No they don't mate. Mine wouldn't even crank.
It sounds like it could be key or decoder related if the light is flashiing. If it was an immobiliser issue, it would be a solid light. Have you tried changing the decoder ring? (make sure you get the correct one for your car, there are 4...
Cancel your appointment and I'll plug it in my Renault diagnostic for you. Sounds similar to my issue a while back. Pm me, I'm free all weekend, or could pop round one evening
it will be a good little project. From the accident, it doesn't sound like there are going to be any hidden issues as the incidents were very localised. The floor will be bendable i'd imagine. If not, remove the spare wheel well, and weld a big sheet in like the 182's ;) So long as the chassis...
it's going to be a lot mate. You're better off getting a second hand ECU, UCH, Key, Barrell set off here. That way it's just plug and play really. All you'll need to do is switch ignition on, then off, lock and unlock the car and you're good to go.
What's up with it? I'm local to you, so could...
You'll have to check your bolt spacing Jez. You're looking for 58mm for all sport suspension (excluding 182cup/trophy which is 60mm). I'm not sure whether yours are 52 or 54mm. Would just mean changing hubs/driveshafts I'd imagine.
