Has anyone ever put these in a 1*2 engine? The only reason I ask is that there was a formula renault engine (f4r) for sale on ebay running 197 cams. Are the profiles that different to OEM?
One with, one without sequential, but still bargains imo. If I had the cash i'd snap the yellow one up.

I love the way you say if it goes wrong they will sort it, but if they dont have the locking tools, the timing will be out, and potentially the engine will break! Plus could you prove it was that and would they foot the bill. If the head/valves get fooked as a result it's not a cheap fix. Your...
Good luck with the airbag cabling. The clip is a pain in the arse to remove. If you've not currently got them, it's a half our job, in and out. Don't ajust your runners before you fit the seats though. They should hopefully be in the correct position before you fit them.
Thinking about it though, unless you have the cams changed while the belts being replaced (~£3K), you'll be looking at ~£4.5K fitted/mapped. You could get a charger fitted and mapped for 4k, so is it worth it?
I suppose the standard 1*2's feel quicker with the boost/Vtec ;) kicking in at 5k.lol. But if the bhp delivery is ironed out it wouldn't feel as "aggressive". For me it's the near constant torque band that's appealing. You want to go side by side with a standard one to see what the difference is...
fare enough, I just read the first line when you said "i'm not going to go into it", and didn't read the rest.lol.
what was the car spec beforehand btw? oh and pics now please ;)
In all honesty mate, take it to a specialist. £350 is too cheap, plus they won't have the correct locking tools for the job (MUST BE USED). Not worth the risk. Book in at Birchdown in Cheshire (closest specialist) and they'll be bang on.
