Sound. Cheers lad.
Bit more to this than I thought then.
Is there some program to carry out this mystical overclocking business or can it be done by other means?
I'm not surprised. It's not very often you get something for nothing. lol.
I've read how people have massively increased the clock speed - Seemed a little bit too good to be true!!
Don't really know anything about it. Obviously you're somehow increasing the clock speed of the processor (or the multiplier) to make your chip work faster and subsequently hotter as a result.
Before I start looking into it in earnest I want to know if it's something the computer geeks on...
One thing you never hear people talk about when mentioning the Williams is that sampling it's greatness is not without cost!!!
They're about as reliable as a chocolate fireguard and rust quicker than a ford cortina!!
I did a weeks course at Derby Uni. lol. Which I still haven't finished the assignments lol.
And I know have the job of upadating the site electrical schematics.
I can do it, but I'm slooooooow. lol.
Perhaps.
Using your plastering analogy for a sec, it's fair to say that no matter how much tutoring some of the IT workers on this forum recieved they wouldn't be able to plaster a cut on their finger.
Same that, and sadly with far worse consequences than lumpy plaster, some drivers...
Maybe. I think like that.
BUT and it's a big but, I cannot put my hand on my heart and say that I'm 100% switched on 100% of the time. I certainly try to be but will always be times, no matter what training you've had, when your mind will not be solely on the road.
Out of interest what do you need to sterilise stuff for in motoring?
That's what we use Autoclaves for at the brewery - We've got a dozen of the f**king things and they're always going wrong!!
Basically if you buy a Cup you suddenly gain control of everything around you. It gives you like a spidey sense. ;) :rasp:
And I can remember your Cup trying to spin at about 20mph in a video a while back - You got away with it, but ESP would have caught it a hell of a lot quicker than you...
I've had to buy the lower arch liner for both sides. One was claimed by a badger and the other came of at 135mph.
Think they were £27 each and then a couple of quid for four of the plastic plugs that hold them in.
I've never had any work done by Ben, but wouldn't hesitate in doing so.
He never comes across as anything but truthful and knowledgeable, and has always maintained that the success of this mod is variable from car to car.
Maybe, as my manifold was exchanged for a ported non-RS one, I actually lost power?
Like I said - Bit of a lottery
BUT in comparison to the cost of other worthwhile mods for these cars, it's inexpensive and could get you good gains. Worth a gamble.
It does strike me that this is regarded as some kind of miracle mod when in fact it simply isn't. It can and does make a difference but it's a bit of a lottery as to how much.
Personally my Maxogen made more of a difference to my car, yet induction kits are generally slated on here........
