I was going to suggest a Divx player but as he's only got a cd burner and hasn't upgraded to a dvd burner I assumed money was tight and buying new hardware wasn't an option.

Google "convert avi to vcd" and you'll see sh*t loads of stuff about it. Or use Nero as I suggested.

Copying an Avi onto a CD doesn't magically transform it into a VCD. You can however convert it into VCD/SVCD format and then burn it onto CD. There's loads of software that will do it such as Nero or if you want to do some research then look at - http://www.videohelp.com/sefy/?id=divx2vcd.html

Aas I see. Just try a different scart cable when you get the chance. Best to rule out a faulty cable first before trying anything else.

Could be as simple as a broken pin/solder in the scart lead. Can you try the lead you're using for freeview with cable and see if that makes any differance?

Is it new Karen or do you have to keep swapping scarts as you don't have enough sockets?

Create a homepage bookmark on the "bookmarks toolbar" and press it once with the middle mouse button/scroll wheel and it will open your homepage in a new tab. 1 mouse click.. That's all.
