It's a good job you did ask. Whether through their ignorance or not if it's insured as a normal 172 and you need to claim they'd soon tell you to do one.
Probably the best thing to do. MTU can cause problems with MSN messenger and other apps but (and no offense) I think that's a bit complicated for your average user to mess with.
Attenuation is still relatively poor (i.e hasn't improved while not the cause of any problems) and SNR is only higher (better) due to the lower sync rate so as a result I think we can safely say that extensions/extension leads aren't the problem.
Re: Urgent help needed!!!
Mate don't take this the wrong way but A, Having "Urgent help needed" as a topic title isn't exactly the best topic title to attract mechanical help and B, Why not gove people more than 10 minutes to answer? Have you considered it's nearly 9pm and alot of people may...
Your downstream Attenuation is fairly (verging on very) high which would suggest a long physical line length and/or a noisy line and the SNR is just above the threshold to remain connected.
When was the last time you reset the router? Would be useful to know due the the sheer number of near end...
My first ever car was insured with Endsleigh some 10 years ago and I thought they were good at the time.
One of my relatives is 17 and about to take his test. I told him about Endsleigh being good for young drivers (or so I thought) and he got a quote for a 1.0 Corsa and it came out at £2500...
Did I forget to mention I work with ISP's and have written technical training guides for several ISP support departments?
Hey what would I know? Perhaps think before you jump in feet first next time eh?
Oh and BRAS wouldn't drop as low as his speeds in a million years. But hey feel free to...
Extensions/bad wiring/aluminium joints etc would not cause such low results so that's irelavant.
The fact you can only get 2500mbps isn't due to the exchange itself it's because the length of the phone line and relevant line stats. BT central will have artifically capped you at 2500mbps based...
Best thing to do is try the BT speedtest on all PC's attached to the router and see if the results are consistant.
If possible (not sure if it is with BT firmware) get the line stats and post them here. Look for referances to SNR (maybe called Noise) and Attenuation with dB levels after them.
