RC1 (Release Candidate 1) was build 5600 and there's new builds out every week. The latest build, 5728, is about as close to the RTM version we're going to get and is perfectly stable (as an OS can be). 5745 will be out any day now too.

PC is used mainly for gaming (no mass storage as such) hence I thought it would be worth the extra.

Nope there's no such thing as a "cup package" for the 172. That's 182 territory. You'll find lots of standard 172's branded as 172 Cup's when being sold second hand. Just down to the sellers trying to make out it's something it's not.

Abs wasn't an option at any point and stability control wasn't an option at any point. Standard 172's have ABS and I believe later mk2 172's had stability.
