    172 inlet manifold PTFE gasket

Yeah agreed im just concerned that the 2mm ones might start to make fitting an issue.

    172 inlet manifold PTFE gasket

2mm would definately increase the insulation performance but I think the increase in perforamnce between 1mm and 2mm will be nothing compared to the initial performance increase from having a 1mm gasket over the stock solution.

    172 inlet manifold PTFE gasket

I think 1mm would be fine all your trying to eliminate is metal to matal contact. Although if fitment is not impaired with 2mm then I can't see the extra thickness being a bad thing. I suppose it depends on what fits and what people are willing to pay.

    Painting exhaust parts??

After looking a reciepts more closly it seems the catylst could possibly be the original one that came with the car so its done 6 years. From the new cat I have they dont seem particually restictive. I dont know if ill ever get round to changing it for a sports cat.

    PH1 172 Alarm Ultrasonics

Have just tried opening the bonnet when the car is locked and an alarm does go off. Is there much pouint in reconnecting the ultrasonics as I think they might cause more trouble than they are worth.

    172 inlet manifold PTFE gasket

As thin as possible. Would 1mm be too thin? What about making one up for the rear plenum connection also?

    172 inlet manifold PTFE gasket

After thinking about this surely the whole thing would be a pointless excercise as the intake manifold curves over the top of the engine?!?!

    Painting exhaust parts??

I have just sourced a brand new renault dual chamber cat from ebay as the one on my car has developed a hole seems to have been changed about 3 years ago from receipts that came with the car but its rusted through already. Was thinking of treating the new cat with some high temp paint to give...

    172 inlet manifold PTFE gasket

I have a mk1 172 and can see the benefits from this but I dont think its worth 35 pounds. As a student of engineering I dont see the need for the gasket to be 3mm thick as PTFE would hardly conduct significant heat at much smaller thicknesses as long as no metal parts were touching.

    PH1 172 Alarm Ultrasonics

The alarm led flashes and if i lock the car with the door open a long never ending beep comes from the car like a fire alarm. So I assume the alarm is connected.

    Pioneer DEH-P85BT

I use the standard car remote with an adapter into the back of the headunit. It works very well. I looked at that alpine unit. There was a reason why i didnt get it but that's escaped me now. Just read some reviews on it. I think it's down on quite a few features that I was after but it might...

    Pioneer DEH-P85BT

I have the Pioneer DEH-P7900UB which is very similar but without the BT and it has a usb connection instead of just an ipod connection which means I can connect a usb harddrive or an ipod to it. Ive heard the BT built into the pioneers can be a bit ropey but you would have to do a search in...

Will Xenon bulbs work in a car used to halogen bulbs?

If you mean Xeon bulbs they sell in halfords then yes they will work as i have some. I dont think Xeon Filament bulbs will work though. I do recommend the xeon gas filled bulbs you can get as they improve your visabilty allot plus they burn white which looks better imo. I got a xeon set from...

    PH1 172 Alarm Ultrasonics

Was just cable tying a wiring loom up under the glove box when i notcied a neatly wrapped wire with a connector on the end of it (not connected to anything). It took a matter of minutes to trace it back to the ultrasonic sensor thats on the A-pillar which explains why I have never been able to...

For all you FWD handles better than RWD

My point exactly i wasn't having a go with my earlier post i was just merly stating whats the point of arguing about things that don't particually matter. As long as you enjoy yourself driving your car who cares?!? To me a clio sport is a fun car to drive i know its not the best/ fastest/ best...

For all you FWD handles better than RWD

Having been lucky enough to have driven a BMW M6 and a BMW M635csi I can easily say that RWD makes for a better overall driving experiance. However I would say that comparing FWD and RWD too one another is pointless as both sorts of cars have different handling charcteristics and both when...

Cup Racer Airbox Over Standard Airbox

Cool. I cant see improvements over the standard PH1 172 box being worth the hassle of buying and changing the box. Unless anybody thinks otherwise??

Cup Racer Airbox Over Standard Airbox

The one 100mm inlet definately seems to offer a slight increase in air flow is the box any bigger then standard? Would love to know if this is worth doing over a standard PH1 172 box.

Cup Racer Airbox Over Standard Airbox

I have got an itg filter and better free flowing air pipes that I have done from the guides section of the forum. Can I assume it would be a waste of money purchasing a Cup racer airbox to replace the 2 tubes with 1 larger one. I would expect performance increases to be next to nothing but...
