Although according to the castrol wesite the oil is API SL approved so should that not be ok for a petrol engine? I'll change it if I need too but it will be £80 down the drain and a lesson learnt!!
I changed my oil about 1000miles ago. I went to halfords and the only recomended fully synth 5w40 grade oil they had was Castrol Edge recomended for Turbo Diesels. Now I probably should have known that diesel and petrol oils are different but I didn't. I checked with the mechanic at Halfords...
May I ask why you need that much stopping power when even the stock brakes are more than up to the job? Just get some brembo disks and race pads if you need more stopping power.....

As title really changed my gearbox oil now when downshifting at high speeds into 3rd I get a crunch its fine at low speeds and when changing up but its still annoying. Never did it with the old oil.
