Just because they can service astons and ferraris doesn't mean they can change it on a clio sport properly. I would always take it to a specialist to get this sort of work done. There seem to be allot of failures recently caused by garages who dont really know what they are doing.
Ive got a max knock value of 94 and a max slow knock correction value of 5.25. Not both at the same time. The 94 occured about 4000rpm. I know what knock is but I dont really understand what the values mean, but i read the correction value should not go above 2.25.
I took a log for my 20 odd minute communte yesterday using my RStuner and noticed at one point the knock correction value was at 5.25 which i thought was pretty high.
After an email to Henk he seems to think it could be high carbon build up in the engine and that I need to drive it more...
I have no mods apart from having a v6 espace airbox. I decided what map to have by running back to back tests along the same stretch of road. I found the .98cal to be the better drive and it provided slightly more torque at certain points in the rev range. I emailed Henk and he said the only way...
I got about 5bhp and 10Nm between 3500 and 4500 rpm and smaller gains across the rev range. Peak power was no more and there was an increase of about 2Nm peak torque. This is what i was expecting.
You will be lucky to see a 10bhp peak increase with just a remap on these cars. Just expect...
Just finished remapping mine. Car has gained a max of 10Nm of torque between 3500 and 4500rpm. It has also gained 5kw of power between this rev range.
Torque and power are up over the rev range up to about 6000rpm where it is pretty much the same as stock.
Car idles allot less lumpy so...
The maxogen that gets rave reviews on here draws its air from the part infront of the battery so i can't see it being a problem. Mine is set up the same although i have a small length of silicon tubing from the airbox to the space you are talking about
Too late!! Anyway the exhuast wont be replaced until it falls off. I'll let everyone know what gains i see with this being the only mod apart from an itg filter.
Yeah sounds exactly the same as mine. It rose to halfway when sat in traffic today but it soon went back down when I got moving again. I just needed to check this was consistent with other PH1 owners
Yeah undo the screw and the handle slides out backwards. Mine had already been refurbed (badly) by a previous owner so I did the following:
1) I rubbed the paint back to the plastic using 400 grit wet and dry.
2) I then applied a few thin layers of plastic primer, 20 minutes between each...
