Mine was in very good condition! There probably are some good ones around, there old arent they!! Mine was mint when i sold it, i spent a fortune on it, about 3 months later the headgasket went. don't think it ever got put on the road again!:( I paid £700 for this, had s**t loads of history!

Yeah! Thats the kid! what kind of motor you got? if its a 172 with an alloy sump it doesn't have a copper washer, has one with a rubber insert.

Sump washer, prob need more than 3 litres aswell. Just over.

Sounds to me like the cable is possible not attached at the bonnet end if it suddenly became free! Its not going to be seized if it opened fine half an hour earlier. Maybe there is something stuck somewhere that you left off! There is no real secret, the only way wee have only ever done it is...

So the cable looks like it is working ok, but the bonnet doesn't opem, when did you last open it? what is loose under the bonnet?

Drive down the road for a while, according to watch dog it will open on its own!:rolleyes:
