Mr.Stabby - No mate, Nick did mine. He's got some very interesting plenhams that are 'chrome sprayed' rather than polished. You can have any colour you want (inc silver) and the bonus is it won't go dull, so you won't have to keep it polished.
Just a thought.
The BBPT one is more expensive and just a reflash on an exchange basis.
The GrpN from Hillpower is a whole new ECU from Renaultsport.
That's why I went to Hillpower anyway.
I got mine from Hillpower... Was 236 +VAT for a whole ECU, not a reflash, so you have you're original as a spare if you wish to return it to standard.
Best to ring Nick - We get a Clisoport Discount.
It's playable. I'll give it that. And it doesn't require you to do 10,000 laps in an endurance race like GT4.
But ultimately, it can hold a candle to GT4/Forza/Project Gotham.
Shame because I used to love Toca on my PS1.
They look good, but there aren't any games I've played on one that have made me want to rush out and buy one.
I didn't think that PGR3 played that much different to PGR2 (not a bad thing but I expected it to be a leap forward considering it's next-gen) although it looked gorgeous.
I'm...
I have Maxogen, Hillpower Inlet manifold, Prospeed Cat Back and GrpN ECU.
Never had the AFR checked, but Nick Hill assured me that the GrpN will be fine with the mods I have.
Throttle response is absolutely razor sharp, pulls much better low down and goes like a train above 5k rpm.
You...
LOL.... That's how I describe the rattles, knocks and bangs too - Typical of a French car isn't it?!
If you had the same thing on an Audi you'd call it a design fault......
Whereas on a French hatch it's called 'character'. We must be mad!!
I started to do mine. And gave up after the bonnet. lol.
I thought being a world champion masturbater might see me in good stead. Not a chance. You'll need arms like popeye to do a whole car effectively!
I love Cornwall!!
I bet it looks absolutely spanking in the flesh.
After I've polished my Iceburg 172 it looks fantastic, but doesn't look that much different in photographs!! I find you get the best results by photographing at night under artificial light.
Looks bloody lovely though mate.
Peak power peak schmower.
My 172 with Maxogen, cat back, inlet and GrpN ECU probably doesn't have much extra peak hp. But by f**k does it go!! To me, after a few mods, a road test (driving safely and below the speed limit of course) is more important than a rolling road.
Don't think...
Yup. I'd get your pads checked too rather than just topping up the fluid.
My lights were coming on around left hand bends. I replaced the discs and pads and all was tickety-boo again. Nothing to worry about.
I always think the one thing that lets them down is the damping. My 172 feels very crashy over bumps, especially at low speeds. Seems to get better as the speeds get higher mind.
But the roads where I live are f**king awful.
I think it looks better in Grey actually. Each to their own. I prefer the colour of the leather on ph2 seats too. Not as 'bluey' as the ph1 versions.
Looks lovely though all the same, much better than standard!!
I wasn't keen on the way the ph1 handled either... but if your putting coilovers on it it should be sweet. Oh and I preffered the gear ratios in the mk2. Nowt between them really, although a coiloverd ph1 should be better due to it's light weight.
Mechanical differences were Gear ratios...
When your 'trying hard' on a track or road in the Clio they get a little bit out of shape sometimes. Nothing you can't control yourself with a few subtle inputs. But the ESP kills everything.
Slows down the engine, brakes the wheels and tries to straighten you up, when in actual fact you...
I'm no track dayer, but I think I can speak for nearly all of the people on here who are on this one....
OFF!!
I turn it off when I'm blatting down a dry road in the summer time. Can only imagine it's a hindrance on track.
What happens is, crank pressure gets up to 1600mbar and opens the fluctrum valve. This valve opens and lets the magic liquid into the baffleator which in turn dephases the exhaust flux cam capacitor by 16 degrees.
And it has absolutely nothing to do with the cams reaching max volumetric...
