Dads taken the car to a place for its geometry. I've told them I want it all standard but with -2 degree camber on the front wheels.
However the guy has come across a huge list of standard options for Mk2 Clios.
He was asking me whether I knew if it was a setting for a D4D, D7D, D2E, K2F etc...
Ahhhh I see now. Thanks for clearing that up mate.
I'm surprised to hear that even a twelfth of a degree out would make any difference actually.
I will go by your advice and leave it for now then. I was just checking to make sure that it wasn't actually needed when camber is used on the...
And do I need it?
Getting my geometry set up tomorrow. Planning on going for around -2 degrees camber with the camber bolts I've just fitted.
I've heard a lot about toe out for the rear wheels. Most seem to go for 5 minutes. This means absolutely nothing to me lol. Can't get my head...
Wow they are expensive. Would rather going to MWM in stains. Only just a little bit further for me.. Although I say that, I don't even know what his prices are like yet..
Had a look on their site and couldn't find a definitive answer. Do you know how much they charge for a full belt change?
How much did it cost you mate? Surely they can't be much more than 519 is Rob..
Thanks mate. I understand what you mean about it needed to be bent away from the damper(towards the front of the vehicle), think that's the position it comes in already anyway. But not sure what you mean about its position needing to be pointing towards the damper but not the wheel (towards...
Just a quicky.
does the bent washer point towards or away from the damper??
Also what does the little, sleve/glove on the bolt do? Is it needed? Does it stay bolt-head side or nut side?
Also thanks Kelv for confirming the top bolt hole on the damper is what's used!
Cheers
Are Eibach Camber bolts a straight swap over from original bolts ??
Trying to find somewhere to get my geometry set up, AMD Essex said they might not be a straight replacement and extra parts might be needed. So I was asked to find out.
Most places I've tried wont allow a manual camber or toe...
I used hub centric spacers on my old Audi. Personally I wouldn't use any other type if your going to use them.
They bolt to the hub. Then you bolt the wheel too them. Simple. And in my opinion much much stronger/safer than using bolt through spacers.
I drove my car hard and didn't have...
Not sure if I like the look of those BMs. Not that I like the Audi either though. But the BMW sound's fantastic in car on the track!!! Really surprised at how good it sounds, it's not synthesised is it?
Great write up. Cannot believe that was just 6000 words I've read. Sound like you've had an amazing journey over last 6 months.
Great driving on the vids. The spa video was fantastic until the pop. Good luck with the new engine.
I was always under the impression the standard 182 wheels were heavy and Oz F1s would be much lighter. My Oz F1s with R888s on are 13.2 kilos. My standard 182 wheels with some kind of Michelin tyres on are 13.4 kilos.
So pretty much the same unless R888s are a super heavy tyre in comparison.
