Looking to get a rear cage with harness bars. No idea how I found this place but had it written down in my Clio notes. Emailed them for some prices on what I wanted.. This was the reply:
"Dear Sir
We suggest Wiechers cages, to make one exactly as the photo you...
Thanks for that chip. For me personally that's well over the limit of what I would want to spend on MY car, seeing as I would need to include all the labour costs too.
Do you do much track work mate?
How did you reply so quick LOL. Did you just happen to be online or do you have some alert function for when your name is mentioned :P
Well I haven't watched it yet so don't ruin it for me :)
Just watched my recording of this and loved it.
Great finish on the day for Josh @ Cooksport!!
Great driving too, especially when he nudged you and got in front but you managed to get straight back in front!!
Cant wait to watch my recording of the Brands Hatch GP race now.
Nicee!! Keep us updated with the reply!
Made me laugh with this too..
"so when i purchased the vehicle i done a full service... not a little one but a full service"
At least you're not injured that's main thing. No amount of money can suffice life.
Depending on how my car settlement goes will determine how much I put into my Clio. If they write it off and pay me out I'll use any extra money spare after I repair it myself to go towards upgrades..
I have looked at it. But prices are considerably higher aren't they. That's definitely not something I could attempt myself unlike say ITBs, which I wouldn't mind having a go at. The only real cost would be the kit itself, new ECU and mapping I presume. Most of which I might be able to get...
Yeah I know. RS2s aren't in production any more though are they?
Funny thing is. I was originally thinking I'll just get a full cambelt service. Doesn't actually need one til next year but wanted to be sure I don't leave it too late and I like knowing that I've had it done properly myself...
It is mad when you consider the two ends of the spectrum isn't it.
If I need belts doing though and I spend an extra £600 on to get cams at the same time. I think well I might as well get it mapped properly to make good use of them. Plus I really want a KTR/KTR style induction kit because...
I need to get belts done too soon so was just a touch of spec creeping lol! Might as well pay extra 500 odd with the belts to get Cams done. Might as well pay to replace rattly Dephaser whilst I'm at it. Might as well pay for Induction Kit and Remap..... etc
Little bits and bobs here and there I can live with.
Just finding it hard to come to terms with the fact I'll have to fork out 1800 quid to get some cams and all the trimmings done lol!
Guess that's my problem lol, I don't have a fecking clue about anything mechanical!
So for me the only option is normally having to pay someone to do the job for me. Costing extra monies..
Then again I'm sure there's plenty of 20 years olds or maybe even younger forking out for ITBs on their clios. Always see pictures from projects on the K-tec facebook page. Good on them I say wish I could do the same..
I deffo suffer from this too. I plan something and then think while im at that I might as well get this done, and this, and then might as well add that on too.
Before you know it a simple task might end up being something very costly! Not on the same scale as you though lol!
This is always on my mind too. By the time I have no more plans left then I will have spent probably £10-£15 on a CLIO! Over the course of many many years obviously if it were to actually every happen.
I don't go out on the piss much either, but I just cannot justify saving up and spending so...
I guess I'm a number 3 too then LOL. But I do like to try and do little bits myself if possible! I'm only talking about putting seats in and fitting an ARB though hehe
20k on cars a year :0 you must be working MUCH harder than I am :P LOL
You're very mechanically minded though aren't you so...
