    Some insurance advice needed (urgent)

Don't you just love car insurance?
  2. McGherkin

I cant be the only one.

I still contest that the clio is the absolute best car of its price range. It's practical, frugal on petrol, goes well and so on. Yeah, the reliability's terrible and the interior is a bit crap but nobody cares because it's a £1500 car. There are of course better cars out there, but not in the...

    I've got no headlights!

I'm not sure whether the headlights are one of them but there's a load in the passenger footwell on the underside of the dash - they're known for getting kicked and bashed around, check they're all seated properly.

Xenons and osram bulbs need help!

High beams are absolutely essential on country roads at night, the best ones possible are recommended!

Cruise control. WONT turn off! Cars possessed.

Are the revs rising above idle when it's in gear? For the speedo to not be registering then it sounds as if it's slow enough to be on idle, in which case LOLs will be had. If it's actually revving up to say 1.5k then there really is an issue, and I don't think anyone's going to be able to...

How to get stage 1 ignition on 197 ?

It sounds very much like this guy shouldn't be allowed to upload maps to your tomtom let alone your car.

How to get stage 1 ignition on 197 ?

You're trusting them to map it but they can't even turn it on?

    Windscreen Repellent

Carpro Fog Fight (IIRC that's the name)
  11. McGherkin

    Windscreen Repellent

    Yup, that's it.

    Windscreen Repellent

    Good luck with that!

    Windscreen Repellent

G5 is more repellant, and lasts longer. G1 is about the same repellancy but lasts MUCH longer. Rainx is easier to apply.

    Windscreen Repellent

The videos don't really do it justice. EDIT: Both windows have just been hit by a wave, left is treated and right is not.

    Windscreen Repellent

G4 is a glass polish. G1/5 are sealants.

Right, own up -- who was on Coronation Street just now? [PIC]

    Lol. Reminds me of this.
  17. McGherkin

    Windscreen Repellent

Well Gtechniq say that the life of the G5 is 6 months, and the life of G1 is 2 years, but as you can see above some people have lasted even longer than that.
  18. McGherkin

    Windscreen Repellent

Absolutely not. The difference between a treated and untreated windscreen is biblical. Being able to drive along the motorway, in absolutely monsoon weather, without even needing to turn your wipers on, is a very good example.

    Windscreen Repellent

G5 lasts circa 6 months, and can be on top of G1.
  20. McGherkin

    Windscreen Repellent

G1 is worth it when applied correctly, but needs more effort to do.
  21. McGherkin

    Windscreen Repellent

Gtechniq G5. Easier to put on than G1 but lasts less time.
  22. McGherkin

Right, own up -- who was on Coronation Street just now? [PIC]

Christ. I don't watch this drivel but I'm assuming the Clio had the BMW in da twistiez and won?

    My Monaro VXR

I see you have been around that corner before.

The wife's new daily/family bus. Volvo content <3

Possibly. Obviously to get the output the life is shortened, same as the Phillips, but not to the extent that you should be changing 4 bulbs a year.

The wife's new daily/family bus. Volvo content <3

Yeah. @ForceIndia That sounds unusually poor.

The wife's new daily/family bus. Volvo content <3

I'd be going for OSRAM Nightbreaker Ultimate bulbs, every time. Just the best output you can get. Sidelights, either of those will do. I only have generic cheap led ones in mine. For the sidelights, which are essentially aimed at oncoming traffic, I don't see much point in having massively...
