Well AOL will provision your broadband on your new number so I imagine it will be a case of just plugging it straight back in.

My current ADSL connection wipes the floor with any cable connection I had in the past. Nearly getting the full 24mb and uploading at 1.4mb as well :)

If its a switch then it will be right near the actually scanner arm thingy underneath the glass as it will literally lock the scanner arm if you move the unit.

hmmmmm strange as thats the instruction thats in the actual user guide.

Take out the power cord and plug it back it. It must reset the unit so it unlocks the scanner.

Yeah I have used a few different brands of routers and have always preferred a Netgear :)

You need an ADSL wireless router as talk talk is on a BT line. The router also acts as a modem aswell so you would just need the router. I would suggest any Netgear one, I am currently using this one :) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/78906

These online speed tests are not accurate as people in the know will tell you on here. Try downloading from a newsgroup/private torrent tracker as that will give you a better idea of what speeds you are getting.

The output from your laptop is video only so you need a seperate cable for the audio. The one above is perfect.

Who has advised you that you are limited 4.5mb?? If they mean you cant go any higher than this then it will indicate that you have a really long line so you wont be able to get the greater speeds like 16mb.
