Just masked them off mate, up close you can tell that I have as the red's run through in places. I might buy a bit of yellow and silver paint and touch them up neatly...
Hardly scientific but it's interesting to know how something as small as having a passenger / spare wheel / full tank of fuel / a big sandwich can make a difference.
Don't just put more and more over the top, it'll continue to crack in the same places.
Sand it right back and try again, the surface may have been a bit greasy from the white spirit or you may have put too much on. Very lightly spray across the plastic, leave 20 minutes, lightly spray again...
The service light means there's a fault somewhere, although it could just be a dodgy wire connection.
The interior issues are nothing mate, they all wear. As for missing all service and V5, I'd be a bit concerned even if it was genuine...
Lol, cheers. I hadn't loosened the bolts that come down from above and rest on the guard, so it was stuck on those!
I then proceeded to break one of the bolt heads off when tightening back up again, cheap French metal...
Please do Neil, she needs a good clean! It admittedly looks a bit odd...
Fitted my polished fuel rail guard and started to colour code the engine cover.
Am thinking that I'll spray the remaining grey part of the cover in anthracite and then have a go at polishing the parts of the plenum that are still visible. Certainly the 4 branches and probably just the RS...

The alternative is finding out much it would cost to buy and then insure the 1.6 for a year, keep the 1.2 and put the money saved into a '1*2' piggy bank!
Right, I've got the nut loosened, but had to do some errands so tightened it back up again!
The next thing: does it just pull off, or does it need unclipping in some way? As the nut loosened, the actual guard didn't feel like it was getting looser itself...
Re: Complaint to Renault - update - Renault have lost me as a future customer
Lol, there's plenty on here mate, and plenty of pictures too...
Customer service as a whole isn't what it used to be.
Thanks mate, the guard's been sat in my car for the last week whilst I've been working but I've got a few day's off so time to change it over!
I'm certain there's no nut in the left one, the extension goes in that little bit further, indicating it's been removed. I'll put some brute force and...
Re: Complaint to Renault - update - Renault have lost me as a future customer
That letter's almost insulting mate, 3 sentances, 'pp'd' signature means it's been typed and sent by some secretary, without customer services ever really getting involved. Blatently a standardised complaints...
