Well Ive had quite a bit of experience with Pipercross kits where i work as we regulary fit them to Elises and Exiges and they make a hell of alot of difference so i think i may go for the Pipercross one for now....
I can always change it for an ITG if the thing falls apart in the next few...
Im shopping around for a new panel filter for the Cup and had an ITG in mind but now ive found a Pipercross one on a website which is cheaper plus its 24hr free delivery (no im not tight, but i want it NOW!!) :D
Does anyone have any experience of the Pipercross Panel filter?

Need some advice as to the easiest way to change the Oil filter on my Cup.
As its a pig to see let alone get to, im presuming its worth taking the fuel rail gaurd off?
If so, how?

Yeah i think its in part, down to the fact that the Mk2 172's and 182's run fly by wire throttles.
They aren't brill when the engine is cold. I have the exact same thing with mine....get to fairly low revs in say forth or fifth gear and hold the throttle steady and things get a bit ji ji ji jit...

But thinking about it having read it, im thinking my noise is coming from the pesky front struts again!
All the more reason to get them changed for some Eibachs i feel...

Can someone walk me thru (or point me towards a thread that does) the engine mount loosening and moving trick?
I've got a few knocking sounds coming from my engine bay when going over bumps so im wanting to narrow it down as i think its down to either the fact that the engine has shifted back...
Followed a Trophy from the Shalford roundabout back along to the Guildford one way system and the pulled alongside it down past Edwards.
They look so taut and solid compared to mine which feels like its about to rattle itself to bits!
Once again Ive forgotten the plate.....it was red tho...

Well mines been back to Renault to cure the shocker top nuts knocking on the tops of the turrets...that familiar noise on full lock....so maybe its a result of something not being tightened up properly.

Ok so here's the thing....I have a totally standard 172 Cup but want to make some subtle changes.
So can anyone give me some advice on the following...
1) Which panel filter is the best one to upgrade to? I don't want a full on induction kit, i just wanna make it breathe a bit easier!

2002 52 plate 172 Cup on 17753 miles.
Apart from the regular rattles and squeeks its been back to Renault for front strut turret mods to stop that full lock grinding and a windscreen seal that had perished.
Possibly heatshield rattle or centre section is only real cause for concern at this...
Now ive got a similar rattle/squeek at about the same amount of revs...usually about 2000rpm. Can usually only hear it when its stationary tho and im pretty sure i can't hear it at 4000rpm so is this centre section as well or maybe just the heatshield?

Ok if its only at slow parking speeds and at full lock it may possibly be the strut top mounts rubbing on top of the turrets. On mine this sounded like a creaking noise but it may be different on other cars. Usually noticed it parking or going round tight mini roundabouts.

Rattles, yes. Altho my mate has a 53 plate one compared to my 52 and his has hardly any so i think the latter ones were a little better screwed together interior wise.
