172 Engine Mounts

Can someone walk me thru (or point me towards a thread that does) the engine mount loosening and moving trick?

I've got a few knocking sounds coming from my engine bay when going over bumps so im wanting to narrow it down as i think its down to either the fact that the engine has shifted back in the bay a touch or because of the front struts which have been recently modded by Ren to cure the turret rubbing noise.....i fear maybe somethin wasn't done up properly!

Do you undo (on the upper engine mounts) the main central nut?

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Cheers. That thread cleared up the question of which bolts to undo!
But thinking about it having read it, im thinking my noise is coming from the pesky front struts again!

All the more reason to get them changed for some Eibachs i feel...

Undo the three 16mm head bolts on the engine mount, pull the engine forward and retighten. It should move about 5mm. give it a go mate.

Yeah i think i will. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
And it may cure things after all....think i'll give it a go at work tomo.
