That's come up really well. Glad you're finally getting somewhere with it and not just finding problem after problem.
Want to swap it for a money pit, absolutely shagged Mk5 Zetec-S? Thought not :(
Epic motor.
1 reason I'm put off Saxo's (from his thread none the less)
That was his previous car from what I can see. If you are to believe what he posted above about the speeds it's pretty scary.
Glad he's put a cage in this weapon though because it's MENTAL by the looks of things.
I've seen a few features on this car and I've come to a few conclusions
1) I really like it
2) I can't decide if I love or hate the splitter
3) It's not THAT low so it's still drivable really
4) I need a JDM DC2.
I like the pictures a lot tbh. I really hate pictures that have been clearly staged, a lot of people don't photograph well when forcing a pose, they tend to look like they are trying to hold a fart in at the same time.
I like the one of the old guy sitting back and having 5mins with a smoke...
Build is coming along nicely.
Met your brother Andy the other day, didn't realise it was until he mentioned the car you'd won, then the blue wheels. Then I clocked on.
Small world.
Very nice.
How easy of a conversion is the ABF conversion? I'm assuming it's harder to have it running on injection rather than carb?
Also quick question as I'm currently helping my friend rebuild his Mk1, your's being the 1.8, was it running the Pierburg 2E carb? We can't seem to find...
Definitely. My friend Scotty runs a Manchester VAG club called Manc:Union (I know Laura and possibly Winston are part of it actually). Some of the people are just proper weirdo's, there is no 2 ways about it, but a lot of the people I've met are a really good laugh, hence why I spend time with...
No problems. Sorting someone else out with one atm. I think it should pass regardless if the sills are okay, that said though, if it's not going to pass, he'll tell you and it just so happens he's one of the best welders I've ever met.
Also pretty sure Jon.G is a member of costco.

Expensive on there though.
Nice, only a small amount of rust at the bottom (which could be treated and filler applied) and it looks like a little bubbling on the lip towards the top right.
Looks good tbh.
Low is funny, the reason people do it with older cars is it's cheaper to repair them when you break something. Plus the following for VAG is HUGE and the newer ones are out of the reach of most of the people who do it.
It's amusing what you have to do to run low. I can...
I'll make sure that never happens.
I just want him to get started ASAP to the point where he completely skints himself each month just to get it looking epic. I love Mx5's, I just look even more gay in one.
Looked well planted on track from the pictures. Can't believe the brake dust one that Ant has posted...Mental!
Is it wrong I kind of like it on the darker track wheels?
YAY! A car with more rust than mine :D
Seriously though, it shouldn't take too much to sort out, hopefully anyway. Can't believe that you drove Seb's MX5 at the last of the Bury meets and had sold the GTi-6 and bought another MX5 by last nights. Mental.
Will keep an eye on this one, and...
