It's weird.
1.2 -> 2.0 - Quite easy to adjust. You think ya 1.2 is quick then you get 2.0 and it's really rapid.
2.0 -> 1.2 is crazy - 1.2 feels like nothing is happening.
Quite weird how you get used to the power etc..
Yea - swine of a job. About 2 hours..
Headlight out
Grill Off
Bonnet off
Wheel off
Splash guard out
Then a 7mm allen key.. beeeeeeatch!
Luckily, I just watched mine be done! :clown:
I think buying a car like a 16v when it's on your absolute budget, is probably a bad idea.
My Williams is mint - but it's still costs a fortune - you never know when anything is likely to just stop working, and the majority of things arn't always cheap.
You only need something like a gearbox to...
No. Amps are drawn.
The car will only use what it needs, up to max output.
If the car only needs 20amps, then that's what will be drawn.
13.x is fine tho.. very rarely need uprated alternators unless you have ICE etc.. Renault wouldn't use an alternator which didn't produce the right...
Good luck.
The steering is heavier on a Williams (wider track etc..) and even with Power Steering, it's MUCH heavier than any other car I've driven.
No PAS is going to be fun!
Well, I'd never buy a car without seeing it.
We went to see a "mint" Williams once - supposed to be really mint etc.. and we drove for 4 hours to get there and it was shocking. Definetly way off what we'd have called mint. We looked at it for 10mins and left - for the 4 hour return journey...
Exactly.
It gets crazy. I've spent so much in parts for my Williams.
Altho, a lot of things were done just because they were easy - the engine was out, so I took the chance of replacing stuff which *might* go wrong.. heh..
If Mat didn't do all the work on my car and I had to pay...
Most places I rung just cared if it had an alarm/immobiliser.. not the thatcham rating.
I had a CAT1 on my 1.2 - didn't do anything to insurance, but was there for piece of mind so well worth it. Who cares if it doesn't bring insurance down? As long as the car doesn't move easily!
