Only been driving mine for a week now, around town only, and I'm getting 24mpg I want to push it up to 25mpg lol but it keeps dipping into 23.8/9 lol :(
Yes it's strange it works without the ground but this headunit has followed me to a few different cars now and the majority of the time, it's worked without earth (I have actually earthed it, but just for testing purposes) I found the manual online so have uploaded the wiring diagram... I think...
Actually yeah that rings a bell, I think it's the thicker black wire that needs earthing? Would that actually effect it's capability of remembering settings though, or is it just how to wire it up properly... oh and yes you're right it's a 4x60w CDA-7893R Alpine unit, very old!
Thanks very much...
I used to work for Globeaid... I guess things got cheaper! They were thinking of bringing in a cheaper Dell version rather than the Panasonic Toughbooks just as I was leaving.
Okay I shall try that, thanks.
Some more detailed pictures and I've drawn how it's set up to make it easier...
Also I found another one in my wire box! It's wired completely differently but unfortunately it also doesn't remember my settings...
I don't really care about having it work when the car's off, so can I do anything to get it working with what I've got? Or do I need another set of wires to get it working properly?
Sorry if I sound dumb but the red wire is going into the yellow wire... so if you took it out, you have no where else to put it other than back into the yellow one again.
Had this problem before with different cars, I seemed to remember it was a case of changing the red and yellow wires over. However the red seems to go into the yellow wire with this setup!? So I'm a bit stumped any ideas?
Have just read through all 8 pages of this thread! But I still have a question to ask... obviously I now understand why the cambelt job is really for specialists, however, is the aux belt (changed every 36k iirc?) also best left to the specialists? It seems to cost about an extra £100-150 on top...
I just sold my blobeye STI and bought a 182.
Impreza was awesome... the Clio's never going to match it on the speed front. To be honest though, for me personally, it just wasn't worth it. Mostly doing sub 5 mile trips, the fuel consumption averaged around 12mpg (mine having the 305bhp Prodrive...
I mentioned in another thread that my car was mint for it's mileage, and it is! Apart from, the lights, unfortunately. This is what they look like...
Is there anything that can be done? I'm guessing it's inside... is there a way of taking them apart and cleaning the inside?
This is the thing... the screen's still the same isn't it, but yet the 'black' part of the white phone, doesn't show a mark!? I'm not complaining anyhow, it's f**king great! Just weird.
This is so weird... I had a black iPhone 4 (got stolen) and now I have, as in the title, a white iPhone 4S.
With the black one I was constantly polishing it! It drove me mad, damn OCD. But with my white one, try as I might, I just can't get it messy! No fingerprints ever appear!? It's not just...
Just thinking I got my 182 for a pretty good price... £1,850 (109k miles but full service history, full years MOT, and it's absolutely mint inside and out, bar the melted steering wheel!)
Has anyone else paid less for a 182? Not including buying one broken. Whilst we're at it, cheapest 172 &...
That's the one, a fiver huh... not too terrible I guess. Wonder why it's even needed though tbh, it looks like it's the same size hole in it, that's why I wondered if it could just be cut down!
Or can I just cut it down?
This is the bit sticking out the Clio...
Used to have the adapter that went in there, is it needed? If it is, anyone know if I can pick one up from Halfords? Thanks.
Parked my new one against my mum's new Fiesta today (Mk6.5) and it's crazy how similar hatches look these days. Prefer a lot of things about hers tbh... but then again she's 100bhp down so think I'll keep the Clio!
Do love the folding mirrors on fob lock though  rather have that than...
Wow I can't even be bothered to read through all my own thread now!
She got in the car for the first time yesterday... only thing she said she liked was the lights around the mirrors, to be expected I suppose, she does spend half her life looking in the f**king mirror.
