brake imbalance maybe? presume you don't hold your foot on the brakes when you're at traffic lights etc? there might be something between the disc and pad? best to strip them down, have a look and see if that helps. I know the feeling you're experiencing though mate, it's very off putting...
if you look inside the car under the glove box you'll see it. You'll have to thread it from the inside up the sound deadening behind the power streering fluid reservoir. It will make it easier to remove the reservoir first to give better access. Still not done mine yet. need weather to warm a...
does look a little high to me, although weight will make a difference. you're going to get issues with body role regardless of the springs really. I've got the prolines and it still roles. As said, solid top mounts and coilovers are the best way, but lowering the car doesn't mean it will handle...
you not just going to get it repaired through the insurance? if you're going to claim you may as well make the most of it as the premium will change either way.
Sorry James, not trying to piss on the sale though :)
doesn't look like much damage from the pic. if anything the panel still looks in tact. just the wheel. Must just be the pic. Presume the chassis is twisted for them to class it as 69% of the value unless they only value the car around 3k. what's needed? new rear beem, rear suspension, panel dent...
From memory the hub bolts are 18mm as are the rear shocks at the stub axle. Top of the shocks are alen keys, but there is a guide in the guide section by fubar
Mark fish already does a conversion kit for brembo 4pots. Steve used to run them on his Rb track car. Similar price I think. Shame they don't make a kit for the 182 really. Ap are very expensive and I've heard mixed reviews on the compbrakes.
They the calipers off a 197?
True, but you'll not get much for the standard setup really. £100 at the most. I'd save a bit more and go for the KW's, but if it's just for road there might be no point.
Problem is if you lower too much on the standard shock, the rebound/compression settings won't respond well. They need a...
Personally i'd do it for free (maybe not over the winter. Hate doing my own at the mo) or maybe get him to buy some beers. You're not going to use much product for that and at the end of the day mates are mates for these kinds of reasons. Bro's before hoes!!!!
most likely the mounts that caused it if it is the selector? play in the engine (well more than usual) and it might have loosened it. get a garage to see if there is a lot of play in the engine.
Mark Fish adjusts the konis so could be made harder I believe.
Coilovers have more flexibility although you're probably looking at around £600 mark for the konis and springs and you'll be looking mid range coilover wise at this price.
clutch is average i'd say. Steering was hydraulic in the 1*2's so much heavier than the 197/200 which are electric. Better feel while driving imo.
If you're bird wants to feel heavy steering let her park my 106 without powersteering :approve:
Ture, you'll never get them to be "sticky" as such on the road unless its hot which in the UK isn't very often. Saying that though, they are perfectly fine in the wet, so no idea why they are trying to ban them. Glad I read this though before drove to the track on my track wheels :(
