My uncle John, who also loves cars, wont go out with me since I demoed the 172 to him. I think it was the viscous acceleration then equally as hard braking that did it.
Unless Renault have changed it the F & F on the Trophy isnt as high as the 182 and 182 Cup, its still a very good saving though.
How tempted are you now? ;)
I took friend out last night whos into cars. At one point I left my braking really late into a tight right, dabbed the brakes...

I had an import 172 from Motorpoint, I was down as the second owner as the importer was down as the first.
When I traded it in with a Renault dealer I got a grand less than if it had been a full UK car. Mine was a Dutch import so did have the 3 year warranty.

I got my first 172 from Motorpoint in Derby. Made a very healthy saving on it at the time. When I traded it in after 15 months to a main dealer I got around £1k less than a UK was worth but Id saved a lot more than that buying it.

Im glad I swapped, Im chuffed to bits with the Trophy.
Only thing I would say is the ride is a lot stiffer. You feel every bump, but it handles like no FWD hatch has any right to, its an amazing little car.
