lmao ! was gonna ask how many ways there are to lose the back or front.
this way I know what not to do and be a bit more confident.
never had chance to do the handbrake yet, not enough space round here.
cable has to be split in half to fit through tube on sunvisor and then routed through rough a couple of inches.
gps cable runs down side of car to boot hidden away.
Stock for the pda wont be available for 6 days, then I will have to wait for postage......will be a close one, but i can get everything except the pda by xmas day.
if it were posted special delivery(next day) last day for posting is 22/12/05
GPS reciever can be mounted in the little rectangle in front window, but i think it is better to put it on the ledge of the rear side window, it sits nicely there and gets good reception.
I can do the lot for £245+ insured postage. Usually around £8 next day delivery iirc.
Will also supply...
Re: ITR f**k they are fast
apart from smt6 and viper yes.
What power do the ITR have? I stayed with it till around 60, then changed into third and it pulled away abit.
I can get everything required for £220, which would include
refurbished ipaq Rz1710
256MB card
cables reqiured + gps reciever
visor, cut to shape if required This is cost price( will need to factor in labour costs), everything new except the pda which is a direct from HP refurbished...
There used to be an offer on for the whole car kit with this pda for £200, thought it was comet/currys, dont think it is available any more. Cheapest I have found so far is £240, but is no good to install in visor as it must use a cradle.

I can make these to order if anyone is interested?
Took me about 2 days to build the first one, but I imagine I can use mine as a template, so will be able to do one/two a day easily.
It is a touch screen system, only one button is needed to switch the unit on. I am going to make it so that...
just wanted to say whoever that was in the ITR stayed with me up till 60 then left me.
cool number plate too A6 DAN
never seen one in flesh before , but just wanted to say that:
"I want one""I want one""I want one""I want one""I want one""I want one""I want one""I want one""I want one""I want...
I have used rennies idea of sticky velcro on the back, but dont even think it needs it as it's such a good fit in there.
Got more pics coming in 5 minutes of it in the car, I was sat for an hour just figuring out how to route the wire!
This is my third sat nav kit so far and what is needed in most cases is:
gps reciever
pda(ipaq seem the best as it takes seconds to install tomtom when it eventually crashes)
software (working one, some of it is a bit dodgy, but luckily this software works perfect, my last version...
thanks, I am quite pleased with how its turned out.:clown:
its the Rz1710 ipaq iirc, fits absolutely perfect in the gap, quite a bit of cutting is required, plus the hole for the screen needs to be in the right position.
Might need to install a speaker in here as its just loud enough, but...
Thanks to Rennie for inspiring me, I have installed the pda he sold me into my sunvisor. Advantage of the 172/182 ones is that cables can be completley hidden.
pda is in the visor, will be wiring it all up tomorrow.:D
Very nice work!Would like to do something like this for my car, as long as i was keeping it for a while.
One question, is there any way of powering the pc direct from car battery? Instead of stepping it up to 240 then back down to whatever it is?
I dont know what sort of power the pc requires.
My cooling fan only ever comes on very rarely for a second then switches off.
Is this the same with everyone?
I have a widescreen one 6 months old FS115B
cheers.
Yes, replied within a few minutes, always excellent customer service.
It does seem to be a bit complicated to remove this from a car and leave the car working at the end of it.
