I read the manual when i got it and it said not to go above 3500 iirc in everyday driving, 1st to 4th gear. I didnt go properly above 3k for about a month in the 172 when i first got it, as I thought i would hurt it.

If i went back to a 1.2 now, I would never stay under 3000 revs like i used to, I would probably kill the car.

is that when you just dump the clutch when shifting foot to the left? I find that's better than feeding clutch in as it doesnt give me the burning smell. I have only done it a couple of times though, dunno if its good for it.

As i remember, you need to go to a VAT registered garage and get the stamps and use all the renault parts. Cant help with parts required.
