Yep! If i needed to free up some ££, the only mk2 i'd have again would be a 172 Cup or 182 Trophy. Wouldn't bother with the others, not special enough. I think its also why people think the 197 is slow, its just nore refined, especially further up the rev range, less gruff and boomy
Had mine a month now. touch wood seems fine. Exhaust is mint, sounds awesome, not heard any failures yet. Gearbox is fine too, nice short throw, very positive action, although i've found it taking a bit of getting used to, as the gates are closer together than the JC5 box. The thing that i...
As said, 3rd in mine is fine, its 5th if anything, but as previously mentioned it could be me tbh, not put that many miles on it yet. Mine was reistered Oct 06 (iirc) 06 plate. So that really is an early version.
w**k!!!
Just dont suit the design of the diffuser or anything. After having a Milltek on the 182, i will never touch another. With its poor build (no mount on the drivers side rear box (!) causing a droopy pipe lol) and random moving tail pipes, i'll pass...
Intersesting. I dont struggle with 3rd so much, its more 5th when giving it some proper stick, ie near 7k (!) But the more i drive it, the more i just think i'm not used to it. Having a 172 and a 182 for over three yrs, i've needed to adjust to the 197 lol. I may however drop the box oil over...
Cobra subframes are pikey. I had Daytonas fitted in my cup many moons ago (will post pics but photobucket is down) The welding is done by Stevie Wonder (tatty as f**k), the pre-tentioners/wiring are exposed. Also the seats squeek. They are cheap for a reason. Pop into Halfords for a look ;) Poor...

Give these guys a CALL. Very clued up etc. Recaro main dealers and re-trimmers. I purchased my aftermarket trendlines from these guys
Your talking out of your arse mate!!! Look on any car forum and you'll see the cars faults  . I've had a 172 cup for 2.5 yrs, stuck 50k on that, and a 182 for 8 months, stuck 10 on that. Both were driven hard, with no major faults in any way. Again just the odd interior rattle, but...
Very nice mate. Same as mine, but mine just has cornering lights, not xenons. Its a gorgeous colour. I've had my car since second week of Jan, and only today worked out it had folding mirrors :o
Different strokes for different blokes imo. I love high revving NA lumps, nothing more satisfying then giving it a good wringing. Turbo lumps are for lazy boys ;)
Meh, fiesta is dated now, soon to be replaced. There is nothing about them looks wise at all. At least with the Renaultsports, they beef up the bodywork some what.
Nice pics :), looks lowered also? I know what you mean, i traded my 182 in for a 197 first week of Jan. The 197 needs a good polish, its covered in tar lol. I'll give it a good spring clean :). There is deffo something about a racing blue with stripes. Love it :)
Do look nice in white. I still cant believe that it doesnt have the steering wheel or alloy pedals. Cup to me means track inspired (see 172) not bargin basement (see 182 and now 197) The alloy pedals and steering wheel add to the track theme for me
