Id heard the oil thing too. Not far off its first service so Ill see about getting some good stuff put in it.
Ive always used Optimax. Its only had 2 tanks of another type of fuel from new.
Mine has always behaved like an over excited Kangaroo when cold, holding back, then lunging forwards.
But today it ran absolutely sweet as a nut. :D It must be liking the combination of the pipercross filter and new exhaust as its never run this well since the day I got it. :D
All in with my Cliosport discount it was £332.24 I think. I didnt watch the entire process as I was too busy looking at wheels and other stuff in the show room, but I dont think they did. They just seperated the back box from the centre pipe. Took them about an hour to do the entire job.
The original looks fine to me. The middle and back section appear to seperate which just about allowed me to get it in the car for the drive home. Its in the shed ready to go back on should I decide to sell the car. Heavy bit of kit it is too.
lol, yeah I see what you mean, the other way...
I was lucky enough to have a quick drive of SteveV6s car, and in that short time I was convinced.
The 172 is a very capable car, but the V6 is something special. You would choose it for different reasons to the 172, which entertains but blends in. The V6 screams look at me, and people do...
Okay, I may be totally wrong here, but heres how its felt to me.
A few months ago I swapped my standard filter for a Pipercross panel filter. The result seemed to be that it pulled a little better from low revs and caused the engine note to be a little more boomy. It also made it idle a...
Check the thread in the post above yours for how it sounds Cuppy. Telford_Mike will know about mpg as hes had his on a while now.
Have a word with Stuart at Demon Tweeks. Hell tell you what he thinks is best.
Its on. Links to pics in this thread: http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=53333&PagePosition=1http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=53333&PagePosition=1
Ive always associated that style of exhaust with Japanese cars also. Not really my cup of tea, but an impressive looking bit of kit all the same.
Not too big either. There was a guy with something similar on a 172 at Trax, only it was huge and hung well below the car. That looked very wrong.
Ive got the car back. They have re done the mod and replace parts of the suspension strut tops again.
The service manager reckons he couldnt get the knock to happen but did say I may stand more chance the way I probably drive. And I took it easy when he was in the car this morning.
Im...
They have "re carried out the mod and fitted new suspension top mounts". Im off to fetch it.
I wonder if they have bothered to test drive it to see if its actually fixed it this time!
As far as Im concerned they can remove it if it helps mike.
Magnex cat back system Chris.
I got it "looked at" a few weeks ago Viv. I phoned and said I felt unsafe in it, and they agreed to give it the once over.
Still no word from them yet!!
Yesterday I left my car with my local dealer at 8am in the morning, giving them more than enough time to deal with the 5 things I wanted looking into.
These being, in order of importance:
Knocking from the suspension when cornering
Passenger seat runners loose (again)
Vibration from the...

Im just off to get mine back from the dealer now. Wish me luck!!!
Im getting mine from http://www.demon-tweeks.co.ukwww.demon-tweeks.co.uk Ill also be at Donnington so you are welcome to come and have a look and listen. Ive had chance to listen to a few, so the choice wasnt all that hard for me.
Ive got a Magnex cat back system going on this Saturday, but Im guessing that may be a little tame for you. The K tec ones are quite a lot louder, even the quiet one!!
Ive actually just swapped mine back to the standard one as its going in to Renault tomorrow. I was going to ask them to check out the lumpy idle and slight jumpiness at low revs when in traffic. Putting the old element in seems to have fixed it. Just been round the block and it felt...
