True, it will have an effect on auxillary load, although pas wont pump/hold more pressure in the rack than it needs so a spool valve opens to release some oil/pressure back to the return(normally resulting in an air/whine noise) even though the pumps at full pressure, ideally we need pictures...
Unusual, the full lock noise would normally be down to either a noisey PAS pump or Dirty PAS fluid, The issue with the tensioner should provide a constant noise if its rubbing on the belt, can you get some pictures up?? Do not drive the car if the aux belt is wearing on the tensioner as if it...
See pictures, the depth of the hole is actually (top of semi-circle to what would be the bottom of the bumper) is: 2.5 inches
9.5 inches between pipes from the inner edges of the semi circles, and 4.5 inches is the length of the lower bumper cut out edge to edge.
^Ah I see, this happened on my old saxo , I had a weird noise/whine, tightened the nut and it went away lol, it was unusual because the nut was still fairly nipped still but it did tightened up a fair bit more, and the noise was there for over a year until I decided to look, was nice to get rid...
iirc 5th gear is on its own separate from other gear cluster, its on the same shaft but behind the metal cover(looks like a sump) on the side of the box nearest the chassis. I have seen before on french gearboxes where the nut holding the 5th gear on has become loose, and in very rare cases the...
If the fluid is discoloured/dark then I would try changing that first, the fluid should be blood red not brown/black. The pumps are quite noisey anyway (whiney) but if its got noticeably louder and the fluid change doesn't quiten it down then it could be the pump. Mine was really noisey, it...
My last car had the drivers door caved in by some c**t, it was so badly distorted the window wouldn't go down lol. It was done in my car park at home and i still haven't found out who did it to this day.
Unfortunatly the Rocker cover is also the camshaft ladder and holds/houses the camshafts bearings, so the timing will be affected as the cams will no longer be secure and will move.
The rolling road seems to be fairly accurate, whilst I was waiting to have my car run there were type-r's running between 190-195bhp (and very low torque:rasp:) and other cars were getting realistic results aswell, had my old car dyno'd there before with relatively low/realistic figures haha :)
Mine is yet to be mapped :), By the looks of it there's plenty of improvement to be had from the factory map, the torque curve isn't exactly ideal, and the power drops off way too early considering the factory rev limit. I still need to check my inlets, although they are RS stamped I have seen a...
In regards to 'the fatty' thanks for posting up graphs mate. I cant help but think the rollers used on yours were a tad 'friendly' 190bhp from 182 with IK. I know RR's vary so much with readouts. Mine still fairly standard so there headroom yet ;)
Exactly this, it pulls very well to be honest. Il still end up going back after the new year, I have a ktec induction kit for xmas :D, then il get a remap when funds allow.
Haha, yeah I took my old saxo vtr there and the results were very believable/low, I cant afford a remap yet but when I do il drive up to Leeds and have RStuning do it.
Today I decided I would take the 182 to a Rolling road to see how healthy the engine is, The results left me somewhere between happy but also disappointed at the same time, it came out with 172bhp and 208nm(153ftlbs) of torque. The car only has cheapo airfilter and ktec supersports exhaust. The...
As a mechanic i would play it safe and remove the spacers and refit the wheels with all four bolts :). Just think of it like this, a wheel bolt missing is an MOT fail, meaning its unsafe.
