patty in order to make your pda into a sat nav unit you need either a bluetooth receiver, or wired receiver, bluetoth is better preferably with a sirfstar 3 chipset in it.
obviously some navigation software tomtom nav 5 is the best, has full post code search etc. a powered mount and a sd card...
thats very cheap for 172 although id be put off by the mileage. i paid just under £6k for mine mk1 172 40k miles 7 months ago and that was from renault although they wanted £7.5k for it. so im pleased
is your 172 already lowered? if not get that done first then wheels. or both if you can afford it. imo i wouldnt get a plate unless it was my name or initials

and i try out various sat navs in my clio and nearly every one struggles to get a signal due to the heat reflective screen, best thing to do is get an external antenna then your sure to get a decent signal at all times...
