The best way to apply polish ??

Damp polishing cloth, and about a 10p sized blob to to the bonnet for me.

Nearly been a year.. Upgrade to better or stay put..

Firstly, I'd buy a dictionary, and learn how to spell debt. ;) Oh, and keep the 172. £2k for insurance is ridiculous.

    PH1 172 GEARBOX

There's plenty about, you just have to pay for 'em. Mine cost me £300.

    sticking gears possibly ?

Selector arm rubbing on something underneath? Dogbone maybe? Jack it up, and have a look. Get someone to move the stick while you're under it. Almost certainly not the clutch.

    The 1.2 drop out.....

Good going for someone who's never done anything like this before.. Loving the ghetto engine install.

    The SchwepTek Ph1!

Both, by the looks of things. One will be power and earth, the other, signal? Just a guess.

    Does anyone Know this car?

I've seen that car on here before. Remember it being in a rep-photoshoot.. God knows who the owner is though.

    Monaco blue 172, Windsor.

Going round the roundabout near the Castle path.. Looking good. Anyone?

Car smells of petrol and wont start!

There is a leak. Mine split on the left hand side of the fuel rail. It runs down the side of the engine, and clips on under the drivers footwell! £40 from renault, although a member on here djroberts, maybe, Pm'd me to say he had a new unused on in his garage he only wanted £25 for! I'd...

    First gear flooring

Check the mount under your battery/airbox. It's only about £18 for a new one, that's normally the one at fault. That, or your dogbone mount.

What colour calipers on a black 172?

But they're standard. Anyone with an RS has them. If you've got Brembos, or 4pots, then I can see why you'd want them to be noticed, but standard, nope. It's like having a massive 'ALPINE' sticker, when you've got a standard headunit...

What colour calipers on a black 172?

Black or silver. Why show off standard calipers?

    loose wheels?

Lol. 75nm is what the haynes claims for most, I think. I always just make sure they're tight after a few miles.

    172PH1,Spark Plugs/TDC Sensor Part Numbers

Easy job for both. Be carful when removing and replacing the plugs, it's all too easy to damage the thread on the plugs. TDC sensor is just two 10mm bolts. (I have a 2nd hand spare one if you want to try that?) My gasket under the plenum was just like a rubber seal. I didn't replace it and...

    The 1.2 drop out.....

Is the engine mounted in the car? It's a fecking pig to do, but it's just trial and error. Project's looking well. I'd love to try something like this.

    clutch is high

Don't worry unless it starts slipping. Clutch is the strongest part of most Clios, imo.

    Barge.

This lot did my wheels. The work was top notch.

    What driveshafts for my conversion

If not, I've got a fork and release bearing from a Ph1 172 box sitting around. The bearing was on mine for about 100k though, so would be risky to use on the road. The fork's fine though!
