Used to be essential for resale on top end motors, but not any more. Think tomtom etc have killed the market off. One of the big boys will wise up and have integrated mounts in the car ready for tomtom, then they can sell a tomtom with every car and make more cash.
Can of worms, really not much in it. At Bedford I was catching the 197 R27, but I'm on AST coilovers and Toyo R888's so I'd be dissapointed if I wasn't a little bit quicker. The 197 owner refused to believe that an older car could be quicker, so I didn't go near that conversation! 197's far...
That car had been mapped for the higher octane fuel. So it would show an improvment. As said, to get any significant power out would require a remap, a pointless fuel unless you have the mapping for it.
FFS if 105 octane has no significant effect, how is 102 going to be better?
EVO ran a fuel test few years ago. In the (turbo) golf gti, 105octane fuel gave 6 bhp more than BP ultimate, 4lbft less torque. In the M5 (NA 5l)it gave less power and torque than Ultimate/Optimax.
You expected to feel a difference, so you felt one. Placebo effect. Unless of course the 197 has...
TBH at most days I've done, they haven't even bothered testing me, just get the passed sticker. They tend to just let me through, as they can't even tell the Clio's on when it's parked next to a TVR/Caterham
As said, having had both, Trendlines are great seats, but the driving position is still woeful. Misano's are more comfortable, better driving position, about half the price. If the Recaro's were lower, they would still be less comfy than the Misano's.
Had both. The Recaro's are very comfy, but the driving position is too high. And they are an utter rip off at full price. Daytona's aren't as comfy, but the driving position is much better (lower), but they do look very cheap compared to the recaro's (and misano's).
You can get a set of...
Why? I've been told by several people not to use a cage'd car on the road, normally the hard points in a car are covered (to lessen impact if your head smacks them in a crash).
