guys the clue is in there, its not the tdc....... ;) the temp sensor or wiring fails, and the car thinks its cold (hense the temp guage reading zero) and over fuels big time (causing black smoke/petrol smell) then will cut out as its flooded the engine.....

temp sensor/ and or loom, search it matey :) its pretty common

well we did get the bar out to it the other week and they 'seemed' ok, no excessive play, but i thought it might be bottom arm related.... but as i said only happens whilst stopping and applying a bit of of lock at the same time..... it never happens whilst taking up drive, or whilst going...

yep, just get a boss with the air bag resistor, and keep your wheel safe, as in a years time all 172 wheels will be split and falling apart lol!

yep, also it sharpens up the fbw responce too, you can tell once you jump back in a standard 172/182 etc
