put money on it being an engine mount, i get this too, i've had a cv joint go before and its NOT this. I think its the engine/manifold hitting the bodywork/subframe, i'm getting a new dogbone mount, and having a play with the mounts in the next few weeks
new its all one system from the cat, but if one part of the section fails the system is cut round the rear axel area. You can then either buy a seperate centre section, or backbox, depending whats failed
yep i''ve done this, i brought a magnex as the centre section on my stock exhaust broke with some enthusiastic driving :o .... liked the way it sounded but wasn't too taken with the looks..... then the magnex centre section developed a rattle, sold it and got a new reno centre section (up to...
well thats what i thought!
but because he was unsure, thought i'd better check, hopefully it might cure the movement in the gear stick whilst pressing the loud pedal :P
i've been running 2500 pads, with standard new discs since the summer and they are superb, really nice bite, and work well from cold, think the problem must lie else where
dog bone mount on the k-tec site fit a 172 cup, or is it just for the mkII phase one 172? they guy at ktec wasn't sure :S , he said look underneath, but its too cold and dark!!!
any one had any experience with it, worth it etc...?
cheers :)
did mine the other day, i have cobra daytonas fitted in a cup....... To remove O.E seats you will need deep 13mm socket, 8mm (for battery), trolly jack and axel stands maybe some wire cutters....and some torx bits
1. Disconnect battery
2. jack up car. Starting from the passenger side...
very random!!!! my car did something very similar today, locked it up, walked off, then about 30secs later i herd it unlock with a constant beep!, wallked up to it, pressed the key, beep stopped. All doors/bonnet/boot were shut, locked it again and it was happy WTF!!?? :S
its probably the two nuts that are an absolute tw@t which bolts up the cat to the manifold...... we put the de cat on mine, all nice and tight, then it developed a rattle, on inspection we found these nuts loose again, the cat must have moved slightly (bedded in)
worth a check
it was the rear shocks on mine, they were awfull, maybe just a bad batch? i did indeed fit the rubber cups (only the top half mind as the adjusters sit in the rear trailing arms).... to prove it was the dampers, i fitted the O.E reno units for a day and the noise vanished.... i think it was...
yeah, thats right, the gaz units themselves are the same as the 172 units though.... its a shame you can't get any H&Rs etc for the 182, you either have to pay maga money for leda's etc, or gaz, there is nothing inbetween
the gaz ones are poor, ok for the price, but i beleive FK's are better. on my car the gaz ones were very noisy, especailly the rears, and made the ride very choppy etc, i now have h&R's and the difference is like night and day, MUCH better
did have a momo millenium sat at home in the summer but it was nearly the size of the original, and i wasn't too keen on the center either! sold it on ebay... another smaller momo wheel is in the pipeline ;)
