Stoopid. My old mans M5 (5l V8) averaged 22mpg. Normal mixed driving. Why can the 197's only get 26-27? Basically same engine as 172 that gets 35mpg easily, over 40 on a long motorway journey.
Had this discussion with Riz. I think it's easier to sell with the wheels, but without the exhaust. You might get a hundred quid extra by selling the wheels seperately, but you've gotta pay to get the tyres swapped and you've gotta find standard wheels. The exhaust is fairly loud, bit of an...
Screw the haters! Had a 182cup, as well as 2 ff 172's. Xenon's are nice, but not essential (and pricey if they break). Climate control is useless, preffered normal AC. Leather? Where? I assure you, no cows died in the making of those seats. When you're sat in the drivers seat, all you'll notice...
Anyone could jump into a 197 and drive quickly, try and drive a vee near its limits and it'll kill you if you don't know what your doing. As for the vee experience, amazing! I can't think of any car sub 30k that has the same.
Agree with that. It's just that the points that some people like (grip>grunt, composed, refined) are negatives to me, and vice versa (poor build quality, nervous chassis) on the 172 are what I love (bar the build quality!).
Exactly my issue with the car. I loved my 306rallye because it felt edgy and a bit dangerous. And I don't really care if I can 'show up' other drivers, like to think I'm past that.
Each to there own opinion lads! Stop getting sooooo defensive. Most articles I've read come to a similar conclusion (even the original clio fan-mag Evo), and yes I have driven a 197/R27. I love the way they look, great interior, really wanted to like them, was looking to buy one, but was...
They are actually quite poor off the line. There's a small delay when you put your foot down as the gears/clutches do a little shuffle before the car moves. So although the 0-60 looks good on paper, in reality it won't step off as quickly as the manual. Problem with all dsg's, even the new GTR...
